Crying with joy because he gets to ride the coattails of Lebron and Wade for another 3 titles.

Ray is such a phony, basically said "ppl" told him, he needs to consider changes and he thought this team(Heat) will give him the best chance to play basketball..(something in the lines).

When asked about the Judas thingy and ppl calling him a traitor, Ray said, it's, cause the fans feel the lose sadness and hurt.. No, Ray, it's cause u joined our biggest rival of the last 2 seasons, that's why, we're calling u a traitor. If u joined the Clippers or Memphis or even Chicago, u wont be called a traitor. I'd give props to Ray for playing thru the ankle problems..
Good assessment:

A shaky voice is a telltale sign of lying. I never saw/heard the presser. When was his voice shaky? I'm guessing it occurred when he said that the Boston fans' reaction wouldn't bother him.

http://bostonherald.com/sports/basketball/celtics/view/20220711ray_allen_talks_about_his_move_to_the_heat

He answered questions about moving forward in his life and career away from Boston, and how difficult it was to leave the Celtics [team stats]. He talked about his bond with his former teammates and his the Boston community and fan base.

“Forever, I’ll always be a Celtic,” he said.

No your won't, you burned that bridge when you joined the most hated team in NBA history. When you're career is over your will be known as the greatest three point shooting mercenary in history with no team to call his own.

Bull ****. You don't take the easy way out, piss off 90% of the fans and go to a team similar to the Lakers on the hate scale. No, real Celtics don't do that. What a pile of ****.

That is EXACTLY when it occurred. Haha. It basically happened whenever Boston was mentioned.

Go read articles, no1 disrepsected him, hell the C's shopped Paul Pierce.. He's a whiny self-absorbed phony, and that's the truth, he's not a bad person, he's just an egomanic, who manages to hide it.. We gave him more cash, KG and PP were in contact with him, Doc and Ainge spoke to Ray, were willing to give him no-trade clause or trade kicker + more cash than the Heat..

Simple undenyable fact: he signed with our rival for less cash, to have a lesser role, while backstabbing PP, KG and Doc, who have been nothing but great to him.

Go watch Heat games, hommie.. u're clueless

How about Ray is a professional basketball player and only is one because fans exist. No fans, no sports. He may have beef with the front office but he took it out on the fans, what is he 15????? tell him to grow the f up.

He believes he has a better chance to win in Miami, end of discussion. People need to get over it, he's not on the team anymore...move on!

I realize he's not on the team anymore and happier day by day that he's not, but in terms of being a boston celtic fan I'm not gonna let it go ever, but thanks for the advice. Why waste your time posting stuff like that if you've already moved on?

Except that wasn't the deciding factor; seems pretty obvious now.

He flipped off the team we love, it's an acrimonious divorce; there's going to be hard feelings, that's the end of the discussion for me. It's only been like a week or something. Some people will move on faster than others. What would help me is actually getting a replacement, especially with Bradley out.

Because it gets annoying having to read "Traitor!!! Judas!!! Benedict Allen!!!!" over and over again. It's completely tiresome, not to mention it makes Celtic fans look bad.

So by signing a cheaper contract with a team who's knocked Boston out of the playoffs the past two seasons, is staying true to the city of Boston and the fans? Uh..what?

This guy is so delusional.

Yep. This isn't about any rift, it's all about Ray's ego at age 37. It seems absurd to many of us but things like being pampered, some warm sun, and the projected ease of knocking down a few jumpers while LeBron and Wade do everything else en route to a title turns some players into hedonistic 5 year olds. Ray is one of them.

I thought it amusing when he took to his canned lines during the intro presser. Oh, we had good times, always remember, this is best for family and me, blah, blah, blah. No Ray, this is what your ego wanted. One of the big reasons everyone is pissed about it is because we found out who you really are. It's a **** tragedy and disgrace to make a decision like this. Gutless, classless. The exact opposite of who you led us to believe you were. ****.

Classic "If I say it out loud a few times, it's true" syndrome. Ray, everything you've done the past few months, culminating in this **** show of a decision, has been one big **** OFF to all of us fans. We took to you more than any fanbase you've ever played for. Thanks a lot ****. And thanks for basically tanking the 2010 Finals with your **** awful shooting.

I don't care how it makes me look to other "fans", I'm not trying to be polite about how I feel and if your tired of reading it stay out of this forum is the best advice I can give you as your probably gonna see a lot more of it.

I wasn't really talking about loyalty either; yeah fans are upset because he flipped off their favorite team, I'm definitely there. I'm just saying for a guy who presented himself as above the fray, he is in it like everyone else. In actuality, leaving in part to go to your rival for spite is not classy.

True enough - my point is that's not really what people meant when they said Ray was classy in the past - they were refering to his level of intelligence and his professional conduct, IMHO. But yeah for the most part we agree..
