When they signed Lou it made Teague into a tradeable asset before then he wasnt. Its my own opinion ofcourse and Teague is a RFA as well.

I noted to that bb guy who is also a Hawks fan that if teague/horford were REALLY offered this by far blows everybody else offer out of the waters. But yet no source has even confirmed it, the only thing posted was just some blogger with his hypothetical scenario but because he included the real scenario of la/hou/bk it got picked up on here.

as if division titles mean anything. all that matters is the playoffs. if the nets get D12 they make the ECF. If they don't they're a 1st or 2nd round exit waiting to happen. Period.

The Nets are much worse than Boston.

Who plays defense on the Nets? Who is going to stop anyone from getting to the rim at will? The answer is nobody

I am also 100% sure the Knicks will not. But we'll have to wait and see.

We'll see, rivalry should be fun. Really hope we meet in the play-offs

Should be a ton of fun. Both should be someone within the 4-8 range this year and I think both will make the playoffs. A first round playoff match-up would have the city going nuts!

Brian Windhorst ‏@WindhorstESPN

Champion in all this in my opinion? Arn Tellem, Lopez's agent. That is advocating for your client. Forced the deal, got his guy max.

They should instead say HelloLA.

Oh wait LA can't get him either because Dwight Howard has a deep seething hatred of the Lakers. My fault.

Oh wait didn't we have reports saying Lakers would take in an unextended Dwight? Oh wait, don't Lakers have the 2nd best C in the league to trade?

Lakers/Rockets/Hawks are still very much in this.

Why is everyone magically making the Knicks a top 4 seed when they haven't done better than 7th the last two years. I'd love to know whats changed. And if you say Mike Woodson I will laugh.

they finished the season 17-7 under mike woodson and for how bad he is, he's loads better than
D'antoni. Not to mention lin's injury occured during the winning streak.

I don't see the knicks as a contender, but a top 4 team in the east?

Honestly I think both teams atm are making mistakes putting $$$ into a core that likely aren't contention worthy unless nets nab dwight.

Let's be honest as Knicks fans. Boston will be the favorites and the Knicks and Nets will be in the mix behind them likely. Verdict is still out on the Sixers depending on the rest of their offseason moves.

I think that would be the best thing, if we both get the 4th and 5th seed and meet in the 1st round.I would love to travel there if that does happen. Stupid Atlantic Ocean!

Why does everyone here always act like its contender or bust?

The Nets did not have the option of getting Dwight. They are still a much better team.

I would way rather this then going back to the lottery and pray that Stern gives us Shabazz.

I agree, the celtics are better and I'm quite comfortable placing them ahead of us... but we won't be D'Antoni bad on defense, either.

That is true, but I think its going what Smith does and if Dwight stays, besides Hawks is going to have massive cap space after this year, so if they stay or go, Atlanta will be still a player in FA 2013

lol it's amazing how insecure Knicks fans are in this thread. Especially the ones saying the Nets "failed". In fact, the Nets completely revamped their roster which convinced their top 3 point guard to re-sign. The Nets succeeded this off-season. Dwight would have just been the cherry on the cake at this point. Everyone thought that Dwight had to be a Net for Deron to stay but look what happened? Nets have nothing to be upset about. The Magic are the ones who are in trouble. It's embarrassing for their franchise how they are handling this fiasco.

And it's amazing how Knicks fans forget about their "contending" roster that lead them to 78-70 record these past two seasons (a 6 seed followed by a 7 seed) including 1-8 in the post season. They're no where close to contending for anything.

Boston is still the favorite I agree.
But thats my prediction. Because I think Boston will take a step back next season due to age. but we'll see.
