Your boy Hansbrough is getting shipped out too.

Pacers are getting so much better by getting rid of the scrubs.

And now on WT
http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/22 ... ison_Jones

Mahinmi will receive a four-year, $16 million contract.

Adding the usual poll. Since Indy had cap space, would it be fair to say they just used Collinson to dump Jones?

Looks like they'll try to trade for DJ Augustine now.

I'd honestly rather trade Hansbrough for a 2nd and just use the capsace to sign Mayo. But if Augustin means trading Hansbrough, I wouldn't be mad.

Collison? Gone!

Hansbrough? Please trade him.

I really like this for Dallas.

We were not going to keep Mahinimi anyways. Collison is redundant to Roddy, but hey, if one of them is healthy, I like it. JOnes can play the role Stevenson did during our championship year.

I’m looking forward to seeing Collison show he’s just as good as Kyle Lowry. I was told here that Houston’s system which inflates PG numbers is the only thing that separates them. So it will be interesting to see how they each do now in completely new situations.

Seems a bit rich for Indy, but ultimately, Mahinmi is a good fit as a backup center for the next 4 years to Roy that will know exactly what to do. Plumlee can, and will play some center, but is likely a better fit at PF. Ultimately, he'll play both.

Good fits for Dallas on one year rentals, though. Collison is a good fit at PG for them. He'll do fine there. Dahntay is a solid vet off the bench. Crazy competitive, and good leader in the locker room for young guys.

I really like this for Indy. we weren't going to play Dahntay anyway and Collison needs to play in an open floor scheme and not in the smash-mouth style that Vogel coaches. Mahinmi will fit right in behind Hibbert where last year we were playing backup 4's out of position as backup 5's. I see this as a horses for courses deal which will leave both teams happy.

Mahimni will actually be in the perfect position next year, behind a skilled big man like Hibbert. He brings much of what HIbbert doesn't to the table as a role player for Indiana- energy and athleticism, and still with an ability to be halfway decent offensively. 4-million isn't bad for a backup center, and he could still improve, though I'd say I wouldn't give him that much in Dallas. Thought he was closer to 3 years, 9 million type player, but compared to other players this offseason, that's not overpaying by much.

I really like it for Dallas. Both players will come in and contribute, and Collison could be a most improved candidate in a free flowing offense, with a Dirk PnR. Low risk, high reward deal for Dallas and still preserves our 2013 cap space, but both teams make out well in this deal.

I've been saying this 'ish for years, so generally speaking you know I want Collison to return to his rookie form. Just to prove me right.

DC gave a large enough sample down on the Bayou to justify the optimism: In 39 starts he averaged 18/4/9/1.

Good luck in Dallas.

How many of those games did you actually watch?

Even New Orleans fans were saying that his stats were meaningless and he wasn't that good. You just see those stats and think he's good. He's a bum. He'll be lucky if he's in the league in 3 or 4 years.

Nah, he's just terrible. When he stops getting minutes off of what he did for half a season, on a terrible team that barely won any games when he started, then he'll be lucky to still be in the league. He's just a very bad basketball player.

Oh and you watched them all Indy2? UR easy to defeat.

You should see his hate for Tyler Hansbrough, it's actually worse. Literally atleast 10,000 of his post are filled with nothing but the same s*#*.

By the way Dallas fans, go back and watch DC in the playoffs against the Heat for a little taste. He's very very fast.

I watched a few. He has David West to thank for actually still being in the NBA. I know he's terrible, you're still hoping for him to become something he never will. I'm not worried about it.

He had David West in Indy too.

I'm telling you I2TW, our offense has not been kind to point guards, and we've been through a lot of them. Some teams like Utah, Dallas, Houston, and Phoenix offer a better chance to actually distribute the ball for high percentage shots, not just threes.

The Pacers have actually had more success with combo-guards running the point, I don't know why, but that's just the way it has been in our offense.

Seems like it. Don't know why they dressed it up as a S&T. Maybe to make it more palatable to fans? No, we didn't give up DC for cap space, we got Mahinmi for him! Seems like a typical Walsh maneuver. He hated letting players walk for nothing, even if it means getting back a semi-bad contract (see Brad Miller S&T for Scot Pollard).

As for DC, I think overall he probably was our best performer in the playoffs last year. I would think he'd have more value, but then on the other hand we didn't give up much to get him either, so maybe DC's value around the league isn't as high as most fans think.

Anyway, good for Dallas and good for DC. Dallas is getting a good player, and DC is going to get as large a role as he can handle. For the Pacers, it could work out in the end, if we get Augustin as rumored, but it still feels like too little value. I'm also not feeling the 4 year deal for Mahinmi, the money seems fair, but the contract length is a bit much. Though I'm guessing our FO must see some untapped potential in him. On the bright side, the Pacers are getting a lot more athletic, which is a longstanding complaint of mine, so I suppose I should be happy.

I somewhat like this deal for Indy. But it's hard to judge really before the whole roster is constructed.

Collison wasn't going to be a long-term guy for us anyway, he'll be up for a contract soon. Pacers brass must have a lot of faith in Lance Stephenson, Orlando Johnson, and Gerald Green, because right now... that's the ENTIRE WING BENCH for the Indiana Pacers.

But yes, the Pacers needed a real, legit backup center for Hibbert. The question is, did they really get one? Or did they just give a 4-year contract to the new Johan Petro??? It's like, yeah, he finally got a chance to really play, and showed that he's a legit backup center. But that was in a contract year, after a couple years of basically nothing.

I worry about that.

Assuming, however, that the Pacers get one more good perimeter/backcourt piece, this is great. Pacers weren't going to keep Collison in the future anyway, and wanted to dump Jones.

If the Pacers sign Mayo as a FA (more and more unlikely, now that he seems to be the best remaining FA - someone will pay him) they have a hill/george/granger/west/hibbert starting, and mayo/stephenson/johnson/green/hans/mahinmi/plumlee/pendergraph bench, which is super deep and tasty. Super deep.

But if they strike out on getting one more piece for the backcourt, they may regret this deal. Lance Stephenson, Orlando Johnson, and Gerald Green is not a guard/wing bench that inspires any confidence in me whatsoever.
