I know we had interest in him not too long ago. I know he is an unrestricted free agent now

If im Petrie I dont make PG moves until I see how Jimmer has developed in Summer League. If Jimmer shows he just cannot grasp the concept of running the offense Brooks is a good alternative if he is cheap.

That's the thing, you can't really look to spread the floor with more undersized guards and squashing Fredette any further really does mean you wasted a top 10 pick. If your best shooting team is Thomas, Brooks, and Fredette, you don't know what the heck you're doing as a GM.

Dont forget Thornton who is what an inch or two taller

Im hoping Jimmer will show some growth and solidify himself as our backup PG.

I am not sold at Isaiah Thomas being a starting PG in the league. He had a very solid rookie year, but i am still not comfortable going forward with Thomas as a long term starter.

I don't feel comfortable with ANY of our guards running the show full time. None of them are natural PGs. Evans has always been a score first and pass only out of necessity player. Jimmer and Thornton are practically the same - undersized 2's. And IT is probably the most capable, but even he is probably better suited playing a Bobby Jackson type role.

Did the team NOT get better when Thomas ran the show? Thomas has what it takes to be a natural PG. You gotta remember he had to do it all in UW so a transition is expected. Dude can ball, give him time to develop.

It's all relative though. Compared to what we had before him, sure, he was John **** Stockton. But compared to what actually works at PG in this league...no.

Aaron Brooks isn't the answer either though.
