As long as they have a nice selection of car dealerships, he'll be more than happy to play there as well.

I hear Orlando has great spots for fishing all year round.
and alot of handicap people too, so he shouldn't have problems parking.

i wonder now that kobe has said dwight "would fit in well" in LA, i wonder if dwight would change his tune about playing for the lakers.
or will he think kobe is making underhanded tyson chandler insinuations again.

Trying to be vague and politically correct with all the dwight questions to not say to much where it would create another media frenzy.

Re: Howard Thread Pt. III
kobe should be politically correct in the media front n' shit, but he and nash need to call the insecure dude behind everyone's back and sweet talk their way into him wearing a purple & gold #12 jersey.
not that he deserves all their attention, but i get the feeling it'll clear alot of his doubts if he knew the team's biggest stars would welcome him with wide open arms.
but what do i know, maybe they already had a convo without us hearing about it.

Nash: Hey Dwight, how are you dude?
Dwight: I could be better. Wassup?
Nash: I'm here in LA, you want to meet up for lunch and talk about playing together in LA?
Dwight: I'm busy trying to get better and only want to play for Brooklyn.
Nash: I understand. Good luck.
---
Kobe: Sup Dwight? How ya feeling?
Dwight: 'm rehabbing how you think I feel?
Kobe: I know how you feel, been there done that ****. Since you are in LA now, you thinking about playing here?
Dwight: Maybe, but Brooklyn is my first priority right now.
Kobe: We'd dominate this league if you were here being my Tyson Chandler.
Dwight: *Hangs Up*

Dwight would extend with the Lakers but he wont say it because he wanted to go Nets and doesn't want to follow Shaq path again. Plus he likes Bynum and doesn't want to step on his toes going to the Lakers.

The problem with this is you risk alienating the all-star center you have right now. I think some of you really enjoy underselling Kobe's loyalty to his teammates.

i did say it should be in secret just to clear any doubts howard may have about being welcome. you know with the Tyson Chandler quotes and all.
besides, kobe has publicly recruited and called guys in the past, wasn't he alienating his current teammates then?

Re: Howard Thread Pt. III
I must be the only Laker fan that doesn't want Dwight anymore. Look, he doesn't want to be here, and we're the LAKERS, we don't beg for anyone. We're starting to look a bit desperate. Not everybody is built for the big stage, and can handle the bright lights. Everybody can't handle the expectations of being a Lakers, and Dwight clearly can't. If he doesn't want to be here, why are we waiting and trying to beg someone to come to LA? Lakers were great without Dwight (not last 2 years, but in history), and they'll be fine without him.
Let's roll with Bynum. And do something about that bench.

No one is begging for Dwight but lets not act like we should turn our back on getting a top 5 player vs rolling with a guy that is barely top 20 IF we can get him. It isnt about begging or having some sense of pride but not going after Howard could have LA back in the dark ages in a year or 2.

With the Brooklyn Nets going another direction, the Rockets could be in the driver’s seat to land disgruntled Orlando Magic star center Dwight Howard. The problem, as it has been for months, is getting the continuing talks to go far enough.
Talks on Wednesday grew “serious,” and the sides at one point seemed close to an agreement, according to a person familiar with the process. But the Magic backed off to consider their options.
The Rockets are open to the three-team deal in which they would receive Los Angeles Lakers center Andrew Bynum, with Howard going to the Lakers, but are primarily working directly with the Magic to acquire Howard, the individual with knowledge of the talks said.
Getting in position for the planned next move will be difficult. To create enough cap room for the kind of blockbuster trade that has been proposed, the Rockets are considering making veteran forward Luis Scola an amnesty cut, likely in the next 48 hours, a person with knowledge of the move said. That would create enough cap room for the Rockets to take on the additional contracts necessary to complete a trade for Howard.
Scola, 32, is due $21 million guaranteed over the next three seasons. The Rockets could wait until Tuesday to make Scola an amnesty cut, by which he would receive his full guaranteed salary but not count against the salary cap or luxury tax figures.
The Rockets’ chances to land Howard greatly improved Wednesday when Brooklyn, Howard’s preferred destination, removed itself from the race. The Nets signed center Brook Lopez to a four-year deal worth $60.8 million.
Orlando general manager Rob Hennigan called reports the Magic had broken off trade talks in general “false.” The Rockets were in contact with the Magic throughout the day Wednesday, a person with knowledge of the process said.
For the Rockets, a key to either deal would be the ability to take on the contracts of as many as three Orlando veterans.

You're right, BUT the point is that he does NOT want to be here in LA for some reason. Who knows why? We can't force someone to want to be here, when they don't want to be. If he wanted to be a Lakers, than cool, but it's clear he doesn't or else he would be here by now. We've been going after Howard for months, and he hasn't changed his mind on us. Didn't they say last week that he would be interested in Mavs, if he can't get BK? At some point, we gotta move on.
If we get him great, but it's NOT the end of the world if we don't.

Re: Howard Thread Pt. III
If we don't get Dwight then we still need to shop Bynum. I don't know why people think we need to roll with Bynum if we don't get Dwight. We need to improve defensively, right? There are plenty of bigs that are better than Bynum defensively, and quite a few of them provide decent 3rd/4th option offense as well.
I would target the Bulls because they could use more offense inside, and they are good enough defensively to cover Bynum's deficiencies. Not many agree with this, but I'd also target Bogut. Bynum can fetch one of those two and probably another nice bench player on top of that since his offense (which we're not exactly short of) is more valuable to other teams than his defense.
For us, we need a good interior defender who can rotate properly, rebound, hustle, and communicate effectively. We could also use someone who knows how to set picks on the other end.
