Brooklyn can't sign him outright now, anyway...

Nets sue Brook Lopez for aggressively persuading the organization to offer him an offer under extreme circumstances.

What?

My God this is one of the dumbest posts I have ever seen

No, they probably did have a verbal agreement with him. The guy was dead set on leaving, but relented and resigned for 1 year. Only reason really could have been some form of verbal agreement to allow them to get something for him in a trade rather than having him just walk.

He opted in because he was about to be traded to LA.

Although its Ric Booger reporting this I really hope it's true, just for the laughs that would ensue from this. It's official Dwight Howard is now the most hated player in the NBA and he is on bath salts  .

How can he sue? There is no contractual obligation that says if he opted in he will get traded. That is against the rules.

Bucher said it? In that case, Magic fans rejoice! Howard has most likely reconciled his issues with the Orlando Magic organization, and has agreed to a five year contract at a huge discount.

If thats what he wanted, he would have opted out and already be in Brooklyn by now. He obviously opted in to help the Magic.

None of us know yet, but there were reports earlier this month that the Union was considering pursuing legal action on Dwight's behalf. We'll see soon enough. Obviously there must be something substantial we don't know yet if the Union were considering getting involved.
