I don't see why Dwight doesn't 'pull a Robinson' and stay injured all year while allowing the Magic to tank. With a high lottery pick and cap space the Magic will have more assets to pull off a long term plan. It worked for DWade (of course he had the patience since he'd already won one championship).

So many things wrong with this...

Throw away a year of his prime to help clean up an incompetent GM's mistakes?... only to hope for a #1 pick and to hope that player isn't a bust and then wait 5 years for that person to develop?

PS, DWade was legit hurt.

if dwight wasn't smart enough to have the foresight that all he had to do was accept a trade at the deadline and play out two months and walk to brooklyn instead of opting in what makes you think he would have the foresight to see this? dude just isn't that bright. that and he doesn't want to be here lol.

Dwight will leave and we will get nothing then.

Miami didn't quite Tank though. San Antonio tanked enough to get in the draft lottery. Miami (if you want to call it tanked) still made the play offs. Plus they built their team through Free Angency. You can tank or be pretty good and do that.

Everybody wants to tank on here, but teams put together through Free Angency or Trades have been the strongest teams this last 5 years. And Still will be next year.

Miami
Boston
L.A.
Chicago
Memphis (yes Memphis)
before last season, the Magic.

But again, I'll be a loner on these boards with my perspective.

u think Dwight would pass up making More money(even on the same level field of salary) or even more using Bird Rights. sure orlando isnt a Big Market like that of New York and such but he can make the same money in endorsement deals here as he could there. heck with our cap room next year we could bring in his 2 Best friends(Morrow and Josh Smith) so he can have some players that he likes.

Someone from the media should ask Rob Hennigan about Fran.

Darko's been amnestied. Are we under the cap at this point? Could we make a bid (And if we could, would you want to?)?

dont see the point with how O'quinns looked. the only reason id even think about it is cuz of his Height and we could easily get a guy like that cheaper.

we need to find a PG besides another BIG

i saw that. He is a legit backup C, emergency starter if need be. I remember him doing fairly well last time he was here. Throwing in about $2m on the amnesty wire, that close to what we would pay for a backup center anyways. His next year is a team option, so we wouldnt be committed to that.

It's just kind of funny because I'm pretty sure you're basing your opinion of Dwight, and his reported actions, on the biased media that you are sick of.

I think there is a mix up on which year Miami "tanked". When I read that, I was assuming he was referring to the year when they were in the lottery, got the #2 pick and drafted Beasley. In hindsight, had they picked Kevin Love or Russell Westbrook, that team would be even scarier right now.

I agree that if Dwight wants back in you take him back...but  at thinking Dwight wants to come back. Nothing has changed since his trade request. He will probably expand his "list" which is good for us.

Expanding his list won't do us any good because Houston still won't be on it :(

Return to Orlando Magic
