Jam Sessions - the Ramon Sessions Thread
As most of you know, I HATE Kemba Chucker as a pg for this team, but I don't know if this is a smart move to have a veteran pg who is capable of starting and has true pg skills, not undersized combo guard skills hovering over Kemba's shoulder. I don't think this will help Kemba Chucker's development. I like Sessions, but I'm torn on this one.

But here's my concern; he's a better true pg than Kemba Chucker. What if KC starts jacking up stupid off balance shots and not getting the ball to the right players and Sessions comes in and does great? Will this cause KC to regress even more? I just don't see the move working when you have a young pg that is still trying to learn a new position, having a veteran looking over his shoulder, waiting to take his job. This could make KC's self confidence lower even more.

If this is a done deal, I am very happy. Do not assume that Kemba will be our starter. You need competition at every position unless a superstar is present. Kemba has to earn his place. I do not doubt the plan is for Sessions to play backup, BUT, he is a more capable PG than Walker already...certainly a better distributor. Nobody is given their starting spot on a 7 win NBA team. I want players who will make us better. Sessions is still a young man (26) and entering his prime playing days.
I think a lot depends on how well the team gels under the new coach and strategy. Every coach comes here wanting to run, run, run. But wanting to do that and executing it are two different things. Sessions can do both the transition and half-court game. His shooting is not a strength, but he's far better than Kemba. Kemba may actually get better faster by coming off the bench. He showed some improvement but was clearly overwhelmed last season.

Congrats, guys...I don't care what anyone says, he's a good player...He just couldn't perform in the second rnd against the Thunder for us (moment maybe too big for him at that time). The guy is so fast - You guys are gonna love him. Plus he's started to become a great 3-point shooter.
So, since the Lakers are doing a S&T with you guys for him, do you know what you guys are giving us? Draft picks would be a great "get" for us for the future, since we maxed those out getting Steve Nash.

Sessions really isn't THAT great at being a true PG. Augustin was better. But Kemba is about as good as Sessions was as a rookie so it seems fair...

Also...coming off of the pick and roll, the guy is just a BULLET to the basket - No one can keep up with him. If you guys are going to be doing some kind of "run and gun," this guy will be one of the fastest players on the court.

What are we sending the way of the Lakers? This is a Sign and Trade.

The Bobcats and Lakers are finalizing a sign-and-trade involving Ramon Sessions.
Sessions became expendable for Los Angeles after they struck a deal for Steve Nash.

Do you guys have any good 3-point shooters? With Bynum/Kobe drawing doubles and Nash dropping dimes everywhere, it would help to have a good shooter.

I could see Sessions and Walker side by side a lot, with Sessions the offensive PG and defensive SG while Walker is the offensive SG and defensive PG. I gotta think you guys promised him a starting role, otherwise why would he pick Charlotte over Dallas and Houston?
I am a Lakers fan, and I am very disappointed to see Sessions leave. I think you guys are having an incredible off season.

Re: Bobcats sign Ramon Sessions
First I heard of it being a S&T. DJ to the Lakers? Kemba to the Lakers and we get Sessions and a pick?
Look guys, I know what has been said about Kemba, even from the coaches and staff. But I don't think anyone in the Cats organization sees Kemba as a can't miss player. Sessions is a better player, bigger, has additional upside growth to come in his game. Do not assume that Kemba is a lock here.

Reggie makes sense. I guess if they want DJ but seems kind of useless with Nash and Blake.
