Holmes is cool. He used to be a regular when the Blue Jays "forum" was a 50000 page thread on the Raptors forum. His humor is an acquired taste.

I like the deal and I am sure he could have received more on the open market. Hopefully his production continues, in which case, this deal would be considered a steal.

Nice. Nothing to be upset about with this deal. Especially because going into the 2013 season with a significant hole at both first and DH would have been disastrous.

A very low risk high reward extension if I do say so myself. The most important thing is how comfortable he is in the Jays clubhouse. Great extension AA. Now the question is what does he have brewing next?
Want: Trae Young, Michael Porter Jr., DeAndre Ayton, Jaren Jackson Jr, Marvin Bagley III, Mohamad Bamba, Shai Gilgeous- Alexander, Elie Okobo, Jevon Carter

look how he plays 1B now. Who would have thought! He can be our 1B going forward.

Since most of his errors were from throwing and not fielding the ball, it was either 1b or DH.

Someone here was saying we lost the Rolen trade as late as last year. We ended up with EE and Rasmus. Good deal; just stay away from the fireworks, Mr. Incarnation.

We didn't technically get Edwin in that trade, he was a free agent signing after he was claimed off of waivers by the Athletics.

I had been gunning for a trade, mostly because I like trades, but also out of fear we could not sign him to a team-friendly deal. I said all along that if he's extended, it should be for 3 years with a club option or two, and the average annual salary should be under $10m. That it actually happened is just incredible. The deal is the definition of team-friendly. Just think: Michael Cuddyer is and will continue to be paid more than EE.
