Mr. Oatmeal.... yeah you got 10,000 more posts and you're cool. This is a discussion board, so go ahead dismantle my suggestions, but provide an argument or your personal suggestions.

Sofa King... I feel you. I just threw that out there. I'm just saying Orlando won't take gasol... and for orlando to trade with houston, Martin would have to be included. There is no where around that. The other thing we can do is trade Bynum for all the good stuff they are offering, including the lottry pick. They might be more inclined to go all out for bynum vs a Dwight rental. We might even get a more than what Morey was offering Orlando if Bynum commits. There is no way Dwight is staying with out proven vets to surround him next year, in houston. By trading Bynum to Houston, the only place Dwight can be traded is to Lakers this season. We will also have the best chance of re-signing him. What can be better than picking up some young talent AND dwight.. for Bynum? (essentially after all is said and done)

Kilroy- thanks for some good feedback bro.

I am new to all this and I didn't expect a warm welcome from everyone, but how about a little respect for everyone one here? Atleast I am not going on other boards posting rip offs, in favor of our team, and giving us all a bad name. I am just trying bounce some ideas of my fellow fans.

Don't mind snaq, he's a good guy. Give him a cookie and he'll warm up to you.

You're good bro. Don't take any comments too seriously. Its all in fun.

I doubt the Lakers are offering Gasol.
Houston's been wanting a center whether it would be Dwight or Bynum. McHale apparently likes Bynum so there's no issue there. But Houston is making their best effort to get Dwight first with out involving the Lakers. The 3-way deal with LA-Hou-Orl is plan B for them, especially if Dwight doesn't want anything to do with Houston like you mentioned.

If you ask me, Houston's offer is the best deal with or without LA. It's all up to Dwight and his camp to say what they'll do. I hope they don't drag this for another 6 months to try to get to Brooklyn.

I hope Dwight expands his list to LA, but if he doesn't, I'm totally fine with our current roster. Just adding more to the bench would be icing on the cake.

Another topic, you're a Shaq fan?

The Rockets aren't giving up on acquiring Howard and are hoping to emerge as the frontrunners with the Nets out of the picture, writes Alex Kennedy of HoopsWorld. According to Kennedy, the Magic and Rockets have discussed "a number of scenarios," all of which would give Orlando draft picks, young players, and cap relief.

Yeah I am shaq fan....

but the whole loveshaq thing came from a good freind of mine.... His nickname for me was loveshack (from the old school B52's-love shack). Shaq was on the lakers then, so I switched up the nickname's spelling and made it my AIM screen name...

Shaq= most dominant center of all time.... He is better than the best of both bynum and dwight together... :P

We might do it, but I can't think of a single reason Minni would.

snaquille oatmeal wrote:I think you misunderstood my post. I am not saying that the Lakers control where DHo is gonna end up. what I meant is that the last report with some teeth that I heard was that the Lakers had issues with his back and that was the reason why the deal wasn't made.

You aren't saying Lakers control where Howard ends up, but yet their concerns about his back were why a deal wasn't made?

But surely, this implies if they had no problems with his back, he'd be a Laker right now right? That's in essence what you are implying, no? If not, then what? I guess I'm just having difficulty reconciling two completely contradictory statements. It truly may not be what you meant to say, but what you actually said conveys that Lakers own Howard's destiny, and if only they'd just come off their current stance thennnnn...... maybe this whole Dwightmare would be behind us already.

do we have official reports that the Lakers don't care about his back? or are we just assuming that the Lakers don't care and want to make a deal?

Well, no reports are technically official. I think it's best we all keep that in mind as this is playing out. But the point is moot: whether or not the Lakers care doesn't guarantee they can get a deal, nor that they are the best (or only) suitor for it. It isn't like we can't rescind the trade later, pending on the results from a comprehensive physical. ORL could very well do the same thing.

Of course, no party wants that to happen, as it would only alienate their current players even further and drive down their trade stock further, so it behooves both of them to get any concerns alleviated BEFORE a deal is reached. In that way, both ORL and LA absolutely do care about the state of their prospective players. But they also recognize the opportunity to posture, which takes far more priority than otherwise when they have a last minute pocket veto to blow the whole thing up.

I feel like in order to get Dwight, we have to give up Pau along with Bynum, For me, If we somehow get Luis Scola with the Dwight trade package, then I'm cool with giving up both Pau and Bynum, but Dwight Howard needs to guaranteed that he will re sign with Lakers

Bynum and Pau > Dwight and Scola....im pretty high on Dwight also but if we are going to gamble on him I do not want Pau out of the mix in LA. No.

I 100% agree... not to mention that the Lakers would be going from having two 7-footers to two big men under 6'11".

I'm saying that If Dwight Howard Guaranteed he will sign with us. I don't know what works Nash would puts into Bynum and Pau, but we all know that Playing Bynum and Pau together on the same courts don't work. They are too slow I can't remember the games that they performed well statically in same game. It was always if Bynum played well then Pau was struggle or If Pau played well then Bynum was struggle. They don't match together

I mean if Dwight commits then im cool with that. I still want to see how this Pau and Nash thing works. Even better for Dwight to be in the mix. That would be pretty unstoppable.

I'm with you, I'm pretty sure that Pau will be good but think about the majority of people that are saying if Dwight Howard trade goes failed, Lakers should consider trading whether Pau or Drew, the fact that Pau and Drew just can't play each other well. Like I said, They don't match together, I can't remember the games where both players played performed well in the same game. When Pau Played well, then Drew Struggled and when Drew played well then Pau struggled. Phil solved that problem by using Lamar, but under Mike brown system, it was always had been problem last year.
