We could, but it would then use up our "cap space" before we could sign other players. If Roy holds off, we could use our "cap space" first, and then use our Bird Rights to re-sign Hibbert and Hill after that.

Never really good on money stuff, big thanks, Scoot!

No worries. I still don't have the new CBA intricacies quite down as many have seen. It's a bear of a topic to learn.

with McGee getting 44, Roy's 48 is sounding better and better.

Roy got 58. McGee could be a really good player, but he hasn't shown the focus to get a max deal. Roy's ability to actually pay attention is worth the extra 3.5m a year.

McGee has inhuman like wingspan. He has the physical ability to be an incredible force in the post, but he has done some of the most stupid basketball plays I have ever seen in my life. He doesn't play with his head.

Hibbert is already worth 11-12 million as is, is 2.5-3.5 milion more per year really that much of an overpay given his work ethic, and accompanying potential to continue to improve. He comes back way better than the year before every single year, I think he's got another year of similar improvement in him, and if that happens he's easily worth his deal. The "max" term scares people, but it isn't like a Kobe max contract, or an LBJ max contract. We beat Miami soundly while he was on the floor, beating Miami is our goal, Hibbert is our most important player. He and Paul George's improvement will largely determine our chances of ever making the finals/ winning a ship, which is better than most teams can boast.
