I like Lamb a lot and I think his game will translate well to the NBA..not sure I'm feeling the Rudy Gay comparison at all though

He is like Rip Hamilton IMO, can really get his shot off

NBADraft.net's mock compared him to a Reggie Miller/Rip Hamilton type player.

I think if we're expecting Terrence Jones to be a SF, then we're going to be disappointed. He's a PF all the way.

LMao ahahahahaha NO lmao ahahahahahahah I kid I kid

(I think somewhere deep in my heart I will miss Mr. Duhon if traded..... I think)

I want all three of their rookies.. ALL OF THEM!

Also, am I the only one trying to figure out why the rockets would make this deal... Seriously, Dwight might not even stay with them. It just sounds crazy.

Well with the way they are clearing cap space, maybe they think they can bring in another max player next year, add in the fact that they will be able to offer him the most money (by far) and that his preferred destination isnt a possibility and the rockets deep ties to Hakeem, and maybe they think they can keep him

But also, maybe they looked at the team they had last year and figured it was a consistant 40-45 win team every year for the next 5 years and realized that is the worst position to be in. Not good enough to win it all but too good to lose and rebuild with high draft picks, so going for the homer run with dwight and if he lives, they will be back to being a lotto team, whats the harm for them?

I like Kevin Martin in the deal, can move him and BBD for an upgrade at SF or C.

Me too. But, if it means not getting Lamb than I would definitely be willing to let Martin go.

Not huge on White or Jones to be honest. I'd take a future 1st before either of them. I do like Lamb though.

if houston can take back ALL our bad deals as rumored, we need to do it. blowing everything up is the route we need to take. lets see what rob can do with a fresh start. the future will be VERY bright. we'll most likely have a top 5 pick, a pick anywhere from 4-14 from toronto, a promising sg in lamb a promsing sf in royce white, and kevin martin can be flipped for picks or a young guy at the deadline to a contender. we only need a top 2 pick to get nerlens noel or shabazz, lol.

Yeah, we have to get Lamb at all costs.

Lamb will definitely be a good NBA player. His game reminds me of Ray Allen meets Reggie Miller. I see him having a James Harden role in the NBA, being a very high octane scorer, but with much greater athleticism.

Guy is 6'6" with a 7' wingspan and he's a ballaholic. Eat, sleep, and breathes basketball. I watched him during the U19 World Games. He was the only player from the USA team to make the All-World Team for the tournament. He proved he can ball with the best on that stage. Combine him with future lottery picks (Noel, Shabazz) and Nicholson who isn't anything to sneeze at, we'll be fine in 3-5 years.

I did not follow Royce White during college, so I can't comment on him.

I saw plenty of Terrence Jones as a Gator fan. He became the player I disliked the most on the UK roster. He's relentless, unafraid of the big moments, and will work hard. Has a mid-range game and can finish strong at the rim. BUT, he's a PF. No way he can play SF. I never understood anyone saying he could. He doesn't have the lateral quickness to guard NBA 3's nor the ball handling to play that position. He'll be a good 4 in the NBA, but we've got plenty of those.

I still say we should try to get as many assets out of the HOU deal as possible. So if we can get White and Jones, and both can only play the 4, we can always flip both in the future or get a 3rd team involved.

Edit: And I just want Parsons cuz he's a Gator.

Reading up on Terrence Jones and Lamb profiles and clips. Love them both, but as someone said earlier, T Jones sounds like he could be a SF, and I like him in that position more too. Jones was a stat stuffer and versatile and passing intelligent, ESPN has him as Lamar Odom lite, and I think he can be that as a better defending SF. I also like White's game a lot, but I just feel, if I had to pick between them, Jones has more length and potential, while White is a point forward only if given the right team.

Lamb's pre-draft injury hurt his stock a little, and his competitive drive is questioned more than Waiters, Rivers, but he has pretty much the best wingspan in the entire draft as a SG, along with the great 6'5 height. ESPN literally says his athleticism/length is like him gliding on the court lol, and the 3 range seals it, he's clearly somewhere between good defender and athletic 3 shooter to something near/at all star. Either scenario is good because of his ridiculous wingspan. Jones similarly has that great wingspan and 6'10, but I love him for seemingly being able to play SF and seeing if he can defend and be versatile offensively, his 3 range is going to help too, especially early on.

Lamb, Jones, TOR first, DAL first, HOU firsts, Martin (expiring), TPE(s) is my beginning counter-offer where I'd probably take if Dwight went with J Rich or Turk, and Duhon or Q Rich. But I'd like to bring Parsons, send Turk with J Rich and Duhon, and have a Jones/Parsons/Q SF rotation. It feels like Jones and Lamb should at the least be great role players, and with all the firsts and at least one lotto likely coming from that deal, it's like this should be going down soon. We'd be certain to possibly get a top 5-10 pick ourselves too (assuming we flip any vets like BBD or Kmart if its keeping the team from lottery position).., if we get a great upside big there.., we'd already trump a Lopez, Bynum deal factoring in their injuries and max deals in consideration with the team rebuilding/team-first culture plan.

Andrew Melnick ‏@HowardtheDunk
Have to try and pry that Houston '14 pick. If Dwight bolts after next year, could be in the top 5.

very good point made here
