Ralph rumors

Post#1 » by Ralphb07 » Fri Jul 13, 2012 3:34 am

I was told that Tolliver was in Chicago tonight and the Bulls told him they were interested in him and had to decide on Omer. Deal being talked about is 2yr 3-4 mil per range.

Also Bulls have talked to Hawks about Morrow. If Bulls were to keep Korver he'd end up costing 2 mil more in luxury tax.

Also what should be pretty obvious since Kirk hasn't signed yet but bring it up anyways so people don't ask how could we afford Tolliver. The Bulls are trying to get Kirk via S&T leaving the MMLE open for us still. This is why Kirk has not signed yet. Basically either S&T with Korver to Atlanta or via the TPE we get if we deal Korver elsewhere.

shoot, Tolliver, really? Decent player, but I was hoping Chicago would make a serious fun at Lee after letting go of Brewer/Watson and soon Korver.

Thanks Ralph.

Korver for Kirk or the TPE, but how would they get Morrow? That would be separate?

What's a basetball?

Since I was assured that everyone knows all moves have a financial component, what are you talking about?

Not a fan of tolliver. He can shoot it but seems more like a taj replacEment than Omer.

And I would much rather have Jenkins than morrow but would be happy with either. We would need shooting.

Ralph you think we go after darko if he falls thru waivers and asik isn't decided for a replacement?

Already referring to yourself in 3rd person? Does your ego know no bounds? I suppose it's our fault; we created this monster. Whatever you do, please don't announce a 1 hour YouTube special where you take your talents to the Knicks board.

 ;)

Interesting. Tolliver would be a nice pickup.

Does your 2nd paragraph mean Korver would cost 2 mil more in lux tax than Morrow?

Ralph, these rumors make a lot of sense to me.

I have always felt that Boozer and Taj were being under-utilized as traditional PF's only.having them both play spot minutes at C immediately increases our offensive output as a team.

Tolliver as stretch 4 is a good move as well.

Finally, Morrow instead of Korver? I' can live with that as well.

Where does Tolliver fit if we sign him? I gotta imagine Asik would have to be gone to fit him in our rotation.

This is so freaky. Just a few minutes ago I was pondering the optimistic possibilities of Korver/Kirk S & T meaning MMLE to use on a quality guard. Then it dawned on me they might just use it to go big and watch Omer sail. Tolliver isn't a center, obviously, so maybe, hopefully not.

Morrow is strange. Korver for Morrow works under the cap yet saves the Bulls a little money--and then you can still sign Kirk w/ MMLE.. That would actually be awesome, which is probably why it won't happen. Jeez, that's the one scenario out there where the Bulls actually improve overall.

I know Tolliver can shoot the ball, but can he play defense?

Their salaries are close enough to facilitate a trade under the cap, but Korver's is higher than Morrow's by a bit, so both the cap and tax hit for keeping Korver would be a touch higher, as well.

I like Morrow, but I'm not sure if he's even an upgrade over Korver, he's a much worse team defender and was worse for 3's last season as well. I guess we're saving 1 million though. Morrow is a surprisingly good post player and was deadly for 3's in his first 3 seasons, he'll get a lot of good looks on the Bulls so he should revert to his old form.

I thought ATL had to wait like 90 days to trade Morrow??

This is just me guessing but I think Morrow is a option if they match Omer. That way they can just sign Kirk for MMLE and do Korver for Morrow, I bet you'd get a pick for that too. I don't think Atlanta would keep Korver.

I've heard but can't go in details because it's from a different source, the Bulls have had offers for Korver involving players and picks but the Bulls have insisted on TPE instead.

Kirk not signing his deal Wednesday should of signaled to fans that something else was up.

I would take Korver over Morrow every time, and expect the Bulls would too. Better player, better contract, so really do not see the point versus just keeping him. I expect the Bulls are still working the deal reported earlier, where they can keep the MMLE, and Tolliver may be a candidate. I would have preferred the Minn deal, and a full $5M TPE, even though they could not sign a player outright, they could get a better player, or a couple, passing the TPE along, but that ship appears to have sailed.

I'll take Morrow. He's younger. Wanted him 2 years back.

He had kind of a down year shooting the ball in NJ, but that team was terrible. Next to D-Rose he will light it up again.

Kyle's last 2 playoff performances leave a lot to be desired too.

Good stuff Ralph. The Korver/Morrow/Hinrich stuff makes a lot of sense.

Thanks as always.

Pj, this is why I said it makes a lot of sense. Instead of some fairytale Lee/ Mayo move, we might as well add 2 solid players in Kirk and Morrow

Kirk / JL3 / Teague
Rip / Morrow / Kirk
Deng / Butler / Morrow
Boozer / Taj / Tolliver
Noah / Boozer / Taj

With Rose coming in mid January.
