I really sort of soured on him this past season because of his glaring lack of defense. Offensively though, the man was a killer. his myriad of post moves, his mid range, and overall consistency made him a great asset. However, like all good things, his time here must come to an end. May the force be with him.

Hard worker and a great guy by all indication, we lost a true professional.

Good luck wherever you go luis.

Nice thread. I'm glad we're making moves for a superstar, but I'm pretty sad Scola had to go. He's been my favorite Rocket for many years.

Any fans who wanted to blow it up to get a star are seeing their wishes come true. But anyhow, Best of luck Scola, I hope you join a contender and get a ring like Battier did.

No more Ice Cream Tango :(

Greatest hair since Moochie Norris and a pretty damn good player too. He was always the most fun to watch besides Lowry for me. Sigh...
We watched the tragedy unfold. We did as we were told, we bought and sold. It was the greatest show on Earth...but then it was over.

how does Scola rank in the all-time Rockets list? top 20?
He is #17 on the all time franchise scoring list

at least he will always be on the wall of the Toyota Center for being on the all-2000's team.

the last member of the 2009 playoff team bids farewell.
No more Ice Cream Man scoop shots and Argentinian tango.

I think Spurs will snatch him up.
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

This BETTER get us a superstar, because luis scola is a great player.

The thing is Royce white is a horrible jumpshooter. Terrence Jones is average too. Scola is one of the best. So we're going to lose, if we dont get a superstar in return.

If we don't get a star. The only good thing that comes out of this is we might get the first pick of the draft next year. All our good players are GONE, disappeared. Nada!

Hands down the best NBA scorer alive with a 28 inch vert (or less).

Argentina may or may not medal, but Scola is going to light us up in the Olympics. I'm going to miss watching him.

Ya hate to lose Scola. His professionalism set the standard for the team. It will be a loss for the younger players not able to see first hand what real professionalism is.

Man this sucks. Scola can still ball, and at 3 years/21 million he is worth his contract. He is/was the only dependable jumpshooter on the team. (Kevin Martin lost his jumpshot last season)

I hope he goes to a team with a real shot at the title. (Not LA Lakers or Miami though)

Hard to hate on Scola, dude had some nice footwork, and very reliable in the pick and pop game. Always gave 110%, and never complained about anything in regards to his role, etc. I still think - Dwight or no Dwight - this is something we could see coming. With the insane amount of young PF's that we have, Scola, while a nice veteran to guide them, also would have been a hindrance to their growth.

I will root for him wherever he goes. Hopefully it's to a likable team, though. :D

Great player given his lack of athleticism. Gave us a reliable power forward option for a few years.

This guy never once bitched amid all the trade talks during his team's struggles. I wish more players had the attitude and professionalism that he has.

first i gotta say his defense isnt all that bad. when he tries he's average, he does what he can.

but i hate to see him go. great all around player. great off the court too. he handled the trade rumors last season really well. im sure his numbers would be the same last season if there wasnt a lockout.

if a good playoff team can get him as their 6th man they're gonna love scola. that what i think he's best suited for

   Knee Grow please!

His defense was consistently trash. I love everything else about his game. But his defense... lacking.

when he tries he's ok, he does what he can. u remember him defending blake in the post? doesnt matter if blake post moves suck, he still defended him well. if its in his limited defensive skill set, he can expose whoever he's guarding if they can't do something that well.

sometimes he forgets the 3pt line exists. i know about that. but he's a power forward, not a shooting guard. he's not supposed to be out there
