I haven't seen anything about preliminary agreements of an extension with this deal. I think Houston is fully aware he's a rental...but they think they can sway him

Well, we know that's not going to happen. I'm pretty sure Houston is trying to get Howard in the door, and ask him to extend once he's there.

If something looks too good to be true, it usually is. It is a lot of good stuff listed there though, so at least we will get most of what we wanted: young talent, draft picks and an expiring. Nothing til next week though? What if the lakers make a last second offer? I don't see how it could get next to that.

Again, I think it's a mix of all of those.
