I remember we had one OP doing something like, that, updating the OP with the latest links, stories, rumors and it was really useful.

A final, less exciting, but completely official way is to simply get text messages from the Magic themselves and make sure the cell isn't on silent/vibrate. I can't quite remember how I got into recieving them but they are as official as it gets and also usually sent out pretty fast from a game result, trade, or draft, I think within 30 minutes or less of such a Magic event occurring.

You mean like this? (scroll through/look at the OP)

Yeah that was a pain to do initially... just saying... it's a good idea though... but it's tedious, trust me... but if someone is up to the task, GO FOR IT :)

and yes, now I'm going to bed :P ... just had to make one quick last check

Exactly that, but I have no clue how you can do that alone  Get the mods to help update the OP if they want to.

yeah I don't think the mods will do it... just a hunch ;) ... they enjoy their lives outside of this forum  ... actually eyriq was the one who (thankfully) stopped me from constantly updating/editing the OP in the very 1st Spec thread... in fact he changed the original title of that thread and named it the "Official Spec & FA Thread", because he took mercy on my constant updating  ... and it really was a tedious task to do... I had bitten off more than I could chew evidently... maybe if all the mods took turns it could work, but I have my doubts that they would do it.

Okay seriously... bed... here I come... ... now

If we can get what is being reported, we'd be better of trading Patterson and Morris for a future pick or something. IMO, they are similar to what Andrew brings to the table.

I don't mind not being able to acquire them either.

I don't know much about Houston's picks this year... did they at last pick the best available?

Personally i ABSOLUTELY LOVE all 3 of their picks
Lamb is the natural scorer we are gonna need
Royce White is a very good Point forward, think Anthony Mason (knicks in the 90s), let his college team in the big 5 stats
Terrence Jones was probably my favorite realistic draft prospect for us, if he gets his head on straight, hes probably one of the top 3-4 players in this draft

AGREED! Very solid picks, when I saw Lamb slipping i was hoping we grabbed him, then they drafted him so I wanted White and they drafted him too lol :(

Kevin Martin, 2012 draft prospects + Toronto pick and we are done, we won't need "multiple" picks we already will have our prospects just give me that Toronto pick lol...

Know the feeling, was sitting there watching the draft and watching jones falls, praying he made it to 19......they took him at 18

But oh well, if we finally get a bit of luck in our favor tomorrow (or just anytime soon) and this deal happens, we get all 3 plus a ton of other players!

I'm in the Bynum camp but will happily admit that reported trade is a steal.
However - I find it hard to believe they'll offer all 3 of this year's picks and Parsons.

I think the guaranteed elements are:
Martin
Lamb
Toronto pick
2014 Houston pick

And SOME of the rest. Not all of it.

I hope I'm wrong and Houston is crazy. But I doubt it.

People seem to be undervaluing the contract offload going in here. Dumping all of Otis' misdeeds and reloading with youth is pretty big.

I'd still rather we go get Bynum and build around him, but if it's really as described this is a very tough one to pass up.

Bynum who? If we are dumping all our contracts then I'm ALL down. I read in that article we could be getting rid of J-Rich AND Hedo :o

I have been hoping for this Houston deal since before the draft. And getting a lot of grief because of it. But I still think this is the best way to go, including a potential Bynum deal. We are probably going to unload all, if not most, of Otis Smith's bad contracts and add some promising talent AND draft picks. I do not think we will get all that some of you are hoping for but I think it will be a great deal for us...AND Houston. And that's the way trades should be. And I think Houston will have a very good chanced to keep Howard AND and get some FA's to help him. I just pray we DO NOT get the rug pulled out from under us. I think if RDV will sign off on this, it will happen. I hope Rich has accepted the fact that Howard IS NOT coming back.
THAT'LL BE THE DAY!
