However - I find it hard to believe they'll offer all 3 of this year's picks and Parsons.

I think the guaranteed elements are:
Martin
Lamb
Toronto pick
2014 Houston pick

And SOME of the rest. Not all of it.

I hope I'm wrong and Houston is crazy. But I doubt it.

People seem to be undervaluing the contract offload going in here. Dumping all of Otis' misdeeds and reloading with youth is pretty big.

I'd still rather we go get Bynum and build around him, but if it's really as described this is a very tough one to pass up.

Everyone seems to be missing the fact that with this deal we can sign bynum as a FA with all these young pieces and a great pick in next draft plus toronto's pick that gives us a real solid chance
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

Even if the deal is only Toronto's pick, Jeremy Lamb, expiring deals, another mid to late 1st round pick or two, and maybe another player or two like White or Parsons...it's still not going to get better than that.

That would still be the best deal we see between now and the trade deadline.

The key pieces are the Toronto pick, cap space, and Jeremy Lamb. We can reach for Houston's 2014 pick, but don't let it be a deal breaker if they refuse. Let's not lose a deal because we got greedy.

What is the minimum offer i would accept :

Jones
Lamb
Parsons
Kmart
Toronto pick
Dallas pick

and they take back 2 bad contracts

That way, we get cap space, two great young players, Toronto pick will be a lotto pick next year, Dallas pick will also have value as Dallas suck now, K-Mart is a great expiring which gives us great capspace. This is everything we would want in a trade.

I honestly dont see the Toronto pick being lotto. If its ends up a lotto, I'd say around top 12-13. No way they become lotto with the arrival of Jonas and Lowry. And lets not forget that the Bulls wont be having Deng and Rose for the early part of the season, Hawks is rebuilding, we're done. There's just too many changes in the East and injuries (Bulls) for the Raptors not to make the playoffs, IMO.

Yep. Those two contracts being Hedo and J-Rich that is. I hate DuDu but from the salary cap perspective his contract is the least problematic. He could be bought out cheaply at the end of the season. Man, if this trade goes down we are really onto sometning big in the next few years.

Miami
Brooklyn
Boston
Indiana
New York
Philadelphia
Chicago
Atlanta
Cleveland
Washington

are all definitely better than Toronto

Then you have Detroit and Milwaukee. I think it ends up being the 10th pick or something like that. Which would be great. If we land the 1st/2nd pick, and Dallas get a 15ish pick.

Shabbazz/Lamb/Jones/Alec Brown/Lorenzo Brown/Nicholson/O'Quinn/Harper/Liggins

Goddamn

So if BBD is part of this deal, who will be our starting center?

O'Quinn or Ayon, we would be tanking anyways.

Ultimate tank lineup:

Chris Duhon
DeAndre Liggins
Hedo Turkoglu
Justin Harper
Gustavo Ayon

If that doesn't beat Charlotte for worst team in the league, MJ should really consider selling the team

ESPN is now reporting the Houston/Magic rumored trade:

http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/81625 ... ght-howard

Basically we would be getting Martin, Parsons, Morris and Patterson to make the salary work, plus the draft rights to Lamb, White and Jones. We would also get the Raptors 1st round pick next year and the Rockets 2014 1st round pick.

We would send back Howard and a combination of Duhon, Hedo, QRich, JRich, BBD.

The Rockets will first finalize Lin's offer sheet and once the Knicks match, they will finalize Asik's offer sheet so it may be a week or so before a possible Houston/Magic trade happens, if it happens at all.

My thought on this trade is we take it and run if that is indeed what they offer. We gain exactly what the majority of us want. Youth, possible lottery picks and cap space.

I wish Houston never made those pointless bids for Lin and Asik and we could wrap it up ASAP before Dwight opens his mouth again with some kind of "there is no way Ill sign with Houston staff" to scare them off

I really dont think Houston is scared of Howard, Howard needs them as much as Houston needs Howard. Howard walks in Free agency he leaves money on the table he would need a sign and trade to get max money. worst case for Houston, Howard still wants to leave they trade him to the nets and they get Brook Lopez.

Semi-OT: All this trade talk got me thinking...

There should be a 'Fan jersey trade' thread, for fans of teams involved in blockbusters... I wouldn't mind unloading a bunch of Howard jerseys to Rox fans I'll have no use for 'em after the trade.

Hopefully this works out, it gives both teams what they want and seems to make too much sense to not happen. I can wait a week for that. I would like to keep BBD but I guess you can't have it all.

On a side note, I just had a thought of how much more fun USA basketball will be without having to look at Dwight. They need another big though.

The new CBA did away with sign and trades, unless you're a RFA so Howard will either accept the 100+ million the Rockets offer or he will walk and lose 30 million on the back end.
