The comments were from 2 years ago too, but yeah, Alvez was the only good signing from that list

Re: Official Liverpool FC Thread
Borini fee agreed with Roma for 11 million pounds. Finally, we sign a young guy for a reasonable fee that has already produced in a top league. Played under Rodgers before as well. Wages should be low as well...people don't give enough of a look in to what a player's wages are in football, which is bizarre.
Looks like Carroll's headed out, whether it's on loan or straight up sold. Doesn't fit in with a system of possession and pressing. I liked Andy and think he has a future of top play, but not under Brendan.
Just got my first LFC shirt (Lucas home) and will be attending at Fenway in two weeks.

Re: Official Liverpool FC Thread - Borini signs
Like the Borini signing. I hope we can follow that up with Joe Allen(Swansea) & Gaston Ramirez(Bologna).
If we can sell Carroll I'd be for it.

Liverpool FC target Clint Dempsey
http://www.crunchsports.com/category/So ... 208140009/
New Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers recently confirmed his interest in Dempsey as he looks to strengthen the Reds' squad before the start of the new Premier League season, and the United States international earlier this month pulled out of Fulham's pre-season training camp in Switzerland in a bid to force through a move to Anfield.
At the weekend it was reported that Fulham manager Martin Jol is ready to offload Dempsey and is likely to leave him out of the squad for this weekend's Premier League opener against Norwich.
Liverpool are yet to agree a fee for the 29-year-old, however, and according to the Daily Mail, neighbours and rivals Everton are considering making a move for the American.

Re: Official Liverpool FC Thread
It'll probably be Cash + Adams for Dempsey. I'd do it. He'd be a good option to bring on and considering we're going to be playing in Europe this year we're going to need quality on the bench.
Spanish press is reporting Nuri Sahin to LFC on a year long loan deal is close to happening. Xabi Alonso is convincing the Turkish star LFC is a great place for him to develop and play. If we were to pull that off our midfield would consist of Gerrard playing up front with Borini and Suarez and Sahin playing just ahead of Lucas and newboy Joe Allen.
I'd die for that midfield.
We're also looking at Cristian Tello for pace on the wing.

Thigh injury sidelines Liverpool's Lucas Leiva for 3 months
http://www.cbc.ca/sports/soccer/story/2 ... njury.html
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers says midfielder Lucas Leiva will be out for up to three months with a right thigh injury.
The Brazil international, who missed the second half of last season after undergoing knee surgery in December, came off with the new injury just five minutes into Sunday's Premier League match against Manchester City at Anfield. He will see a specialist later on Wednesday.
Rodgers says "the indications are two or three months…we'll see if it needs an operation or whether it is just recuperation."
Liverpool has a ready-made replacement for the midfield anchor role in Nuri Sahin, who was signed on a one-year deal last week from Real Madrid. The Turkey international could make his debut on Sunday, against Arsenal at Anfield.

I'm surprised that Liverpool snapped up Yesil for only £1m fee.
Last time I saw Yesil, dude was a scoring machine for their U-17 team.

Will premier this Sunday. I wonder if they will cover the Hillsborough development in one of the later episodes.

^Saw a preview for it last week and at the end of one of the training sessions, Rodgers was tearing Sterling a new one. Should be a cool watch.

Anyone else watch the show? I thought it was a pretty good watch. Suarez playing monopoly was cool and the kids are just adorable. And of course foreign players are easier to understand than Carragher

Certainly a worthy watch. Rodgers says all the right things and I have the utmost respect for Gerrard as a footballer and person.

Martin Kelly out for 6 months. Gutted. He was starting to come on. Guess this means Andre Wisdom, Jon Flanagan, Jack Robinson will be fast tracked.
Or we could flip Glen Johnson at RB and bring back Enrique into the XI. EEK!
