I hope Fran comes over. We need a center to just play good defense. If not, good for O'Quinn.

I'd say that Fran is more a C than a PF.

Trust me. Bulls will not match Asik. They don't need to match $8 mil per year for a 10-15 mpg player. In addition, this puts the Bulls into Luxury tax territory. Next year, they have to do the same with Gibson. Gibson is much better than Asik and if Asik gets $8 mil per, what do you pay Gibson to go futher into Luxury tax territory. Right now, I bet the Bulls are calling all teams about trades to unload Korver and/or Deng to shed salary to see if they consider keeping Asik. If no moves are made, they let Asik walk.

Also, don't expect Morey to include Parsons in any trade scenarios.
It's looking to me like if Chicago doesn't match Asik, Morey will have to send Parsons over so that they take back the salaries we want them to.

Re: Official Speculation Thread (Pt. XXXVII Off-Season Editi
So if it comes down to it, which players do you trade of the following 4 to be included with Dwight?
Turkoglu (2 years, 22 million, last year only 6 million guaranteed)
Davis (3 years, 19 million)
Richardson (3 years 18 million)
Duhon (2 years, 8 million, last year only 1.5 million)
For me it's Davis, jrich, and duhon because Turks contract isn't as long... You could also include qrich and possibly Clark in that deal.
If we do trade all that for the whole package being reported last night we end up with:
Nelson
Martin, lamb, redick, liggins
Turkoglu, parsons, Morris, Harper
Nicholson, Patterson, jones, white
Oquinn, ayon
Obviously in this case we would either buy Martin out or trade him for a pick , or combination with something else for more assets... Also, maybe we buy out Turk, or trade Harper, that's too many threes, and hedo is tHe odd man out... Our fours can all play, and all will be valuable assets to us, only problem is none of them can play the 5, so two of them would have to go, probably Patterson, and maybe white

Didn't even think about doing the trade like that.....but theoretically couldn't we break the trade up so that it is basically D12 for picks and an enormous TPE, and then trade the rest of the contracts for KMart + young guns? That way we would have the option (if we really wanted) to pick up another big name player using the almost $20mil TPE?

When only 2 of them plays at center, you need to, IMO. Are you confortable with Ayon as a starter and Kyle as his backup? (assuming BBD goes to the Rockets).

Everyone knew/knows that already. Pretty obvious imo.

You can't just "buy out" a player and not have him count against the cap right? His contract still exists against the cap, but you just have to pay him less right? Since we have a ga-jillionaire owner....who really cares? What would be the point of that? And I still don't really see what team is going to take Martin on that would give us a pick or assets that are more valuable than $13mil in cap room next summer...

Come on guys, a big on a 6 mil a year contract coming of a really good post season performance is a pretty good asset in this nba climate. We shouldn't be thinking of dumping baby.

I'm not saying I'd wanna pay him that much, but I can see Chicago paying him that kind of money. Like I said, once Noah goes down again, who are they gonna play at Center?
If they wanna keep contending, they gotta have depth too ..
