Here's why I hope that the rumored Houston trade goes down....

Dwight's SUPPOSED whole issue is that the Magic have surrounded him with inferior talent on long, bad contracts and he needs to get out to compete.

Now we might be granting his wish, but we're sending those SAME crappy contracts/players with him to his new destination - almost ALL of them. Now he'll be in a new location with basically the SAME players he was frustrated with on the Magic.

I think J-Rich and BBD are good players but Dwight does not get what he wants with this deal at all.

They do but the Dallas pick is top-20 protected through 2017 and unprotected in 2018.

I'd still take that. While I wouldn't be surprised if Cuban can rebuild a team very quickly, the Mavs could have some rough years ahead if they don't get some top-flight free agents. I'd still love that asset.

Dwights issue is he wants a bigger market. He could care less about his supporting cast or winning anything. He wants more marketing and TV/movie appearances. This whole thing about blaming management is laughable. Maybe the supporting cast does suck but Dwight doesn't care. He loves being the first option and being treated like he is the entire franchise. Orlando just became too "small" for him.

If supporting cast was an issue he would sign an extension with the Lakers without hesitation. He would force a trade to OKC or Chicago. The guy doesn't care about winning and it is quite obvious. He wants attention.

Why is everyone is such a hurry to trade away our expirings for trash? I thought everybody was all gung-ho about clearing all this cap space. If this trade goes down (depends on exactly who we send to them of course), we could easily have something like $35+mil in cap space next summer. Bynum/Iggy/JSmoov/Monta could all be in play. And I know a lot of people hate on the whole lot of them, but you do realize you are going to HAVE to pay some guys big bucks right? By next summer, we need at least $54mil in salary...everyone can't be on $2mil/yr deals....

Liggins is very overrated on this board imo. I think KMart could play the 3 slot at times. Not saying NOT to trade KMart....but to just trade him for a backup or whatever is silly. His value is in his huge expiring contract. Maybe you trade him if you can package him along with another asset for another very legit asset. Otherwise I think you just let him expire and go after a max/near-max guy next summer.
