Haha. 2.1M? That's unbelievable.

Now there's room to go after Scola too.

I'd like to see West signed.

I guess this means that all of the exceptions and rights to players with cap holds will be renounced officially.

If we sign him, it will probably be after we use up our cap space on amnestied players.

Why?

Did we use part of a TE to sign him?
Israel is committing a genocide in Gaza and is slaughtering innocent civilians. They are commiting war crimes. They are killing and starving innocent people.

AIPAC should be made to register as a foreign agent.

Does Brand put us over the cap? Meaning no room to put in a bid for Scola?

Insanely GOOD price for Brand. I am not surprised no one else placed a bid on him though.

I want to go for Scola but at the same time I don't know if it's wise to get stuck with his contract long term.

JES12, does that include all those 10 year old cap holds you mentioned in a previous blog? Willis, Williams, etc.

sry but i need to post that again:
In fact, according to Synergy tracking, there are 39 players who have defended at least 100 post-up plays this season, and Brand ranks first in points allowed per post-up play (0.582). And it's not really close. The distance between Brand and the second-ranked player Marc Gasol (.664) is the about the same distance between Gasol and the 13th-ranked playerSamuel Dalembert (.750). Opponents going against Brand in the post have shot an abysmal 31 percent on their field goals, but more importantly, Brand plays them clean, as they earn a trip to the free throw line only once every 20 tries. For reference, players going against Howard go to the line four times as often as Brand.

We have to use cap space to get him off amnesty.

By my numbers, we still have about $4.8 mil. Mu numbers are only as good as shamsports, but his are pretty accurate unlike hoopshype and other sites.

Scola at 5mil a year is more insane than Mavs catching a 2.1mil break on Brand. I say go for it. Scola produces at the price of 9-11mil a year.

Yeah. I think this is the year thay go away. In order to claim Brand, we have to get our cap at least $2.1 mil below the limit.

Just to be sure(and I'm sorry, I could try and confirm it myself). You said the Mavs renounced to the exceptions and cap holds because that's the way they were able to be under the cap to bid?

Great news. Still room to do some more damage, too. It's like Christmas in July!

Couldn't agree more. We should be so lucky as to get stuck with Scola at 3 years, $4 or $5 mil a year. Talk about a tradeable asset. FO is doing a very good job of picking up decent players on very good contracts.

Free agency obviously doesn't work for Dallas, but i'm going to shut up about our FO for a while. I think they've been very wise with their money this off-season so far.

I meant insane as in insanely good.
