Yeah, I have no idea what they were thinking with the Chuck Hayes contract. Didn't we pay him more after the heart incident, too?

That was called paying market value. Unlike anything known about JT's summer there were at least 2 other teams seriously trying to get Hayes to sign, one of which has already tried to trade back for him.

Think a higher pay for 2 year would have been better.
