90% to 95% of the stuff posted online are false. Ping falls under that category.

The Rockets, according to a league source briefed on the discussions, are willing to take one bad contract back from the Magic, not two or three, as has been speculated.

rgm's jason mclaed had the scoop hours before, this morning in fact:

https://twitter.com/@insiderjaynba

Source says don't believe reports that HOU is willing to do anything for Dwight. Trade would be done if that were the case...

Morey plan includes offering to absorb 1-2 bad deals with capspace instead of 3-4 with expirings. Plan to get 2nd star via FA next summer.

Taking on all of Magic's bad deals kills that and surely kills Howard returning. Morey knows that.

Morey believes a 2nd star in Houston would be more attractive for Howard than any other team with the capspace to sign him.

i believe thats THREE bullseyes that mclaed has hit.

scoop #1 - Lopez offer sheets
scoop #2 - ORL holding onto Dwight
scoop #3 - Rockets only willing to take 1-2 bad deals, not 3-4 as widely reported

That point was stressed over and over to Pingalore. The sources went as far to say "follow the money," adding "The Lakers are a big market team that needs a player as global as Dwight Howard."

This is just major jokes at this point . I'll tell you guys this much...IF we do end up getting him, assuming we keep Pau, Mitch should be given a statue infront of staples and should have the option to work for the Lakers for as long as he wants to. Think about it...talks heated up with numerous reports saying it's almost a done deal with the Nets...Mitch didn't budge. Same thing is happened/did happen with Houston.

If both Lin and Asik are not matched by their repsctive teams (Knicks, Bulls), I don't think Houston will have enough cap room to take on more than one (or maximum 2) bad contracts.
If Houston gets both, that really does open the door for the Lakers to swoop in and make the deal for Howard.

Not really sure about Houston's cap situation...but the offer sheets to Lin and Asik are backloaded,Lin and Asik would get 5 mil each in the first year of their contracts if the Bulls or Knicks don't match(unlikely)

With just 10 mil between those two,(combined, for the first year)I'm assuming Houston can still take some bad contracts along with Dwight

Nevermind, it's from bleacherreport and PIng. Double negatives.

Listen to Mitch Kupchak on TheHerd - http://espn.go.com/espnradio/play?id=8163031

1) NBA rules prevent us to talking about Dwight trade.
2) 95% or more in the news have been inaccurate
3) Pau and Bynum understand about the trade rumors. They get it.
4) Top two this year was Deron Williams and Steve Nash. Did not think it was reasonable to acquire Steve due to salary and playing for Phoenix. Steve told Mitch LA is the place it's the place to be. Immediately called Kobe to call Nash.

There is a PR game being played here... Lakers close today, so Rockets up their offer.
