that would actually be the only thing that makes any semblance of sense

NO. I take a 23 year old Lin everyday of the week.

Lol @ this BS. Who is your source? The little birdy on your tree? The Rockets changed the terms of the deal in order to make it harder for the Knicks to match. Lin didn't beg anyone. This was already reported by anyone. Stop making things up.

Lol @ anyone calling Lin ungrateful. The Knicks didn't even make him an offer. They WANTED him to sign an offer sheet and he did. The Rockets gave him that money. Is he turning that down for the Knicks? No. This is a guy who slept on his brother's couch. He's taking the money. Knicks paid $120 million for Isiah's lottery teams but now don't want to match an actual good player. James Dolan at is again.

his agent didnt go at Grunnie's office; instead of that he went at Yao Ming's headquarter!!

Lin should have just came out and said I ONLY WANT TO PLAY FOR THE KNICKS. Dude trying to get more money thinking hes an all star lol.

Doesnt he know hes messing with James Dolan. Nobody shows up James Dolan lol.

I still think were going to match though. Must admit, wouldnt be shocked if LIN barely averages 10 points a game on another team.

Truth is, this is MELOS team.

WTF is this bull

Not a loophole. I knew about it. That's the whole part of the poison pill...hurts us more than them. They pay Lin an avg of 8 per year -- that's the cap hit. However, we'd actually have to pay the "real" amount per year -- 5.2, 5.2, 14+.

My take (since some are asking) is on a team loaded with vets, Lin/Shumpert are lone pieces for the future. Shocked if they let Lin walk.

Exactly less hope for the future.

Knicks print money, and it defies logic, I can't see this happening.

It just depends on their evaluation of Lin. If Lin turns out not to be the PG of the future, there's not going to be Linsanity. If Lin doesn't live up to the contract he wouldn't be a sensation.

But Jeremy has noticeably distanced himself since the end of the season. It’s a tough read. Does he want to be back?

Holy crap. If trading Ewing wasn't a curse upon this franchise, not matching for Lin clearly will be.

Or he could just have been put on a budget by Charles.

If so, trade away all the assets. Dump Melo and Tyson and flush.

i can't believe they'll let lin go ...

couldn't they just sign felton for 2 years like last time so he doesn't add to that 2015 mess? he'd be a nice combo guard off the bench for us.

Grunwald should absolutely be fired if this happens. I know that matching Lin is of more concern to Dolan because of the luxury tax, but Grunwald should have gauged Dolan's willingness to pay BEFORE he overpaid Novak and Camby.

Give me a break man. Lin has not even played 30 games. HE HAS NOT PROVED ANYTHING. This is the kind of Knick fans in the world today
