Can't we just wait for an official source before panicking? Just because the Knicks might be interested in signing Felton doesn't mean it's to replace Lin.

Felton was good through all the stages, he was a **** LEGEND in High School, he played really well at North Carolina, he won it all, he was a top pick in the Draft, he played at a very high level as a starter in his former team, then he jumped to a big market/better team, and he looked damn good, All Star level, and then we send him to Portland via Denver, when he ends up in a bad situation for him, had trouble with the coach for the 1st time on his career and he get out of shape, ok, is one bad season! Felton progress is trustworthy, Lin isn't, make the jump up from nothing, and performed great in a few games, in sports management you CAN'T rely on that.

He is?!? Last I heard, he was coming off knee surgery that caused him to miss the last 2 months of the season. He refused to make an effort to come back for the playoffs and play when the Knicks were decimated with injuries. He also pulled out of Olympic practices.

How is he in basketball shape? He hasn't likely played competitively in months.

3 NBA PG's and one from overseas? Sounds great to me.

Felton is trash... he's awful... but if Lin choses Hou over NY, he'd be(come) a classic traitor!

Its our decision. If we match he stays a Knick. If we don't he doesn't. He has no say. :o

It is possible that Lin told the Knicks not to match.

No real difference between Lin and Felton. Both have had a string of about 25 games in a Knick uniform that have defined their career. One's fat, the other an enigma. The fat one has a history up until this year of at least being an NBA quality player. The enigma is an enigma. As long as we end up with one we're fine. Last summer there were people willing to go with Douglas as our PG because of a tiny sample size when Billups was hurt and a fluke 40% 3 point season. I don't see this as a downgrade, just a horizontal move. It's about whether you would want half our PG minutes to have heavy risk of a player being a fluke, or heavy risk of a player being literally heavy.

Kidd's 6'4 and strong. He's also a bit too slow for many pgs. Defensive positions is what matters.

Knicks have absolutely not given Felton assurances that Lin would not be there and he doesn't need them, source said.

 Like I said very early on in this thread.

"Hey Jeremy, you want to get paid like a top guy because of what you make me off the court? Ok. I'll do it. But guess what? I'm bringing in 3 other PGs. I'm making my money off you now regardless. If you want to see the floor, then you prove it. Enjoy."

It is certaintly possible, Knicks trying to land Felton before they match Lin offer-sheet, so Rockets cant offer him money.

Players come off injuries all the time and come back in basketball shape. The only thing Felton looks forward to is eating his cheese burgers after the game is over.

O.K., breaking this down in my head.

1. Original source says that Felton's going to the Knicks
AND
That Lin is not being matched

2. Original source is vindicated by other, more reliable sources.

Therefore, since the original source has proven to be correct, then Felton is going the Knicks and Lin is not being matched.

Looks like it's over, folks.
