If the Knicks don't match Lin, it's also because Lin doesn't want to play in New York.

ever thought about that?

I think it's over folks.

Felton wouldn't come to play back-up and take a pay-cut, not after how he was treated during his last stint in NY.

Read between the lines: Knicks refuse to negotiate with Lin, yet say they'll match anything (incentivizing the poison pill) and in doing so shape the narrative excusing them of not matching. Lin already gave Dolan his payday (Time Warner).

This has Dolan dick-measuring written all over it.

Fixed.

If this is going to be fixed, please have it so Kurt Thomas isn't leaving and going to the Knicks in the same trade. I am assuming that is correct.

Speculative rotation and minutes with Lin back:

C- Chandler (30) Camby (18)
PF- Amare (34) Melo (14)
SF- Melo (24), Smith (9), Novak (15)
SG- Smith (16), Kidd (16), Felton (16)
PG- Lin (32), Kidd (8), Felton (8)

Now you can move those numbers around and what not... but with both Lin AND Felton there are plenty of minutes for everyone. Again, we don't have a 2nd true SG right now... and anyone available is not someone you want in your rotation. Shump is a major question mark... if he comes back and is ready you figure it out then.

Now I hate doing this guessing minutes thing... but it seemed to make sense to show why Felton AND Lin could happen.

Match Lin out of spite, I do not give a ****. Rockets hit the Knicks with a loophole. Knicks should hit them with one right back.

Felton is also coming off arguably his worst year in the NBA. His phone wasn't exactly ringing off the hook...

Looks like the original source got everything right. Felton, you better lose some damned weight before you get to training camp next season.
