Guess we played ourselves by openly celebrating the original offer Houston gave Lin...

here's another thing... everyone always felt that lin would get a larger offer than what he initially did, and the organization was still prepared to match it. so when he got a lower offer, everyone was ecstatic. but now that the offer has increased, isn't it still within our original range? this is probably what the knicks had mentally prepared themselves for all off-season.

Thats so true. But doesnt the trade for Felton signal disappointment in the Lin-Rockets situation.

Felton was so not a PG that Larry Brown played him at SG. One problem: he also can't shoot! Do people watch basketball? In what world is Felton a superior player to guys like Lin and Dragic?

I have the same concern. Felton isn't going to space the floor for Melo and Amar'e, and that in and of itself is a major issue.

Also love how everyone saying Lin was only good under D'Antoni while forgetting Felton's been pretty terrible everywhere except under D'Antoni himself.

its quite the opposite. People in this thread seem to think that Felton was only good because of dantonis system. for some reason this doesnt apply t Lin who was so spectaculer his rookie year in GS.


I dont think it had that big a factor on either player. I think they are both solid pgs. Lin has a much higher ceiling though but we have no clue what his real floor is. If we end up with both though I will be very happy

It boggles my mind how anybody can be in support of letting Lin walk. I get that he hasn't proven anything, but how does it hurt to re-sign him and give him another shot and make sure he sucks before handing over the reigns to Felton? It's not like you personally have to pay the luxury tax.

Serious question. Has anyone ever even seen a Knicks Felton jersey? Everywhere I look I see kids in Lin jerseys and shirts. The moms and kids know nothing about basketball and those things sell anyway. Also, do you think Asian americans and asians overseas are going to start rooting for the guy if he isn't a superstar? At worst, Lin would be a top notch back-up in the league and he'd still have a huge following. Those followers would not stop loving him and buying his stuff and watching him. His popularity would go down, but he'd still be a huge cash cow anyway. Dolan would be an idiot not to match from a financial standpoint.

I'm laughing at the idea that the Garden would boo Felton. It's like some of the posters here either just started paying attention to the Knicks, or can't remember anything, since February.

Felton was a Garden favorite because he was a bulldog on defense and loved to pull on the NEW YORK of his jersey. He was a throwback to the 90s kind of guy, and the Garden crowd loves him because of that.

Think of this felton and Jr in the back court, We aren't going anywhere with two chuckers playing heavy minutes in the back court.. this is a step backwards.

It's a step backwards into CEMENT. There's no coming back from this -- 2nd round ceiling for this roster.

lin screwed with the knicks when he told rockets to change the contract to 3 year deal instead of the four year deal. I think lin thinks he some sort of superstar type player thinks he is max player when really he is mid level type player its to much money especailly for him.

I'm not sure that the NY FO has even recieved Lin's Houston tender. Without them having that offer sheet they cannot match. NY will NOT officially receive the Lin offer sheet until Monday.
