If Woodson/Melo/Amare don't stick up for him and Lin doesn't matched, then we know our answer. If they really want him back, he'll be back...

Does matching Lin make sound financial sense? Probably not
What does Dolan care about more, winning or $$$? Figure that out and you'll get your answer.
So the fact that MSG stock cap went up 600million dollars after Linsanity hit doesn't factor into your that keeping Lin makes fiscal sense? 600 MILLION DOLLARS!!!!!!

Lin was the first player since like...the 99 team that made me cheer like a girl during games. I'm usually calm or pissed off and the dude is something else. He has the it factor. I don't want to lose that over **** Felton.
what if he re-signs and plays like toney douglas?
There's ZERO percent chance of that happening. Even when Lin was only being played in garbage time, we (we as in people who don't irrationally hate on players just because they don't have well known names) could see Lin had skills. His ability to get to the rim will not be going away any time soon. And his vision is far above Douglas'. He's going to be a starting pg for years to come.

Melo and Woodson are the two most powerful people on the team. They need to step up and make it clear they want Lin back. Dolan will spend if necessary; look at how much he gave Novak, Kidd, and Camby.

We also need balance in offense between Melo, Amare and everyone, and sadly, Lin is too ball dominant for a PG, he can't play off the ball, he slow the attack, and makes some of our better players look really bad out there.
With Lin right now the only option is give him the ball and let him be the MAN, and he couldn't be the man on the Knicks with Melo and Amare, maybe he can in Houston, and he grow up a little bit, but now, we need a veteran guy that can play more games than that one, of being the star, and that's why Lin should be the odd-man out.
Not the money, the taxes, the CBA, he just doesn't fit well, and he isn't well enough to take the risk.
How the **** is a shooting PG like Felton who sucks at scoring and sucks at passing more balanced than Lin who is a better scorer and better passer? Dude please man. Just shut up. Seriously. We're in win now? THEN PICK THE **** BETTER PLAYER. **** man. Just don't quote me. You're dumb.

How? Felton put up better numbers than Lin when he was in NY

Proposal to mods: Any mention of CP3 in a Knick uniform=instaban?
We have no cap-space, or assets. If CP3 would've stuck to the initial plan (2012 fa), he'd be ours. He didn't, because surprise surprise he wanted to get paid. It's over. It's done.
Although in 2015 when the guy has no meniscus left I wouldn't be surprised if we maxed him out, seeing as we are CAA's atm machine.

Not a move we recover from -- either for the roster or for the fans. It'd be the end.
I've been a fan since '83 but even I could go no further.
Here's the problem... those 25 or 30 games of watching Linsanity healed the wounds of the past 10 years of torture. You don't take that possibility of giving your fans that again. That's the perspective from the fans... from an emotional aspect.
From a basketball standpoint once Melo was paired with Amar'e our ONLY chance at beating Miami and hopefully winning a championship was finding that ONE transcendent basketball player (and because of the combination of Amar'e and Melo that player HAD to be a point guard) that no one else had the opportunity to find or the opportunity to sign that could propel the team to said championship. We saw CP3 a player that could be that player traded to the Clippers. Then we saw Steve Nash a player that also could be that player even if only for one or two more years traded to LA. And now our last chance was that Lin COULD become that player. That was it... game, set, and match. It's not happening without that transcendent special point guard making it all work.

Even the mighty Lakers who just signed a ridiculous TV deal are trying to shed salary for the new CBA.
If Lin isn't matched, its gonna be because of the finances nothing else.
Not to spite fans, not because NYK doesn't wanna win, not because the other guys are jealus, not because of the way he acts, etc...
Its gonna be because of the money.

Believe me, if this was 2010, I'd be completely fine with Felton replacing Lin. Things have changed, however.

Re: *Felton traded to the Knicks. Knicks not matching Lin?
I like the move for Felton...hes a suitable starting option if Lin doesnt work out. And yes, imo we will still match Lin because the allure of what he showed is too good to pass up. Plus we can still stack contracts that are usable around the trade deadline when Love says he wants out of Minnesota and Paul says fcuk this, theyre still the clippers. And then we will end up with Paul-Shumpert-Melo-Love-Tyson and fcukin clown Miami over and over again. There, now we can all sleep well. Goodnight bitches.

Here is something else to think about: First 25 stars of Lin's career.
Here is another: Lin is better than Felton.

i don't understand where people get this bullsh*t from. why the f**k would Lin all of a sudden play like toney douglas? lin knows how to play the game. he's waaay more confident than toney ever was. to come in off the street after being benched and not given a chance for 2 years and light the league up says something about your character.
we also know that he's a very hard worker and is humble. which of these things would lead you to believe that he'll play like toney douglas next year?

Because Lin has the chance to be much better than Felton. With Felton you get what you get... the upside is ZERO... and to be a serious contender we need UPSIDE.
