well to me we will be fine without Lin it would have been nice to see how he would turn out, but now we have 3 veteran point guards on the roster and a combo guard in Shump. Logically thinking why would Felton want to come to the knicks to share the point with Kidd and Lin, doesn't make sense, so he must have been told he would compete for the starting spot, also why hasn't Lin come out right and say that he wants to be a Knick?, I understand this is a buisness, not hating on him for getting his money, but look Melo said he wanted to be a Knick, Howard is saying he wants the Nets, etc, all Lin had to say is that he wants to be a Knick, aaahhh he hired that new agent, new agent wants the dough.

Yeah, but what other options did Felton had? We were probably offering him the best deal he could get.

no. we're better than last year. but the ceiling is pretty clear, unless STAT magically turns into a different type of player. we have no upside from what I see.

Felton will receive a three-year, $10 million contract in a sign-and-trade deal with the Portland Trail Blazers, according to a person briefed on the details. The Knicks will also receive Kurt Thomas, another former Knick, in the deal. In exchange, Portland will receive Jared Jeffries (in a sign-and-trade arrangement), plus the nonguaranteed contract of Dan Gadzuric, the Knicks’ second-round draft pick in 2016 and the rights to two overseas players.

I don't have the energy to read this entire thread - but who are the overseas players going in the trade?

Was Felton traded to the Knicks, or did the Knicks trade for Felton?

The 2 Greek guys? So we're including this year's 2nd round pick and 2016's.

It's amazing that people will discredit 4 solid months from Felton and completely cherish 7 solid games from Jeremy Lin.

At least we know that Felton has chemistry with Amar'e. Lin had zero chemistry with our two main guys.

I think people are going to be eating a lot of crow next season.

He got traded twice in the last year and a half, and to crappy Blazer team at that. People will talk crap about Felton for not caring playing on a team he doesn't want to play for while they orgasm at the thought of Dwight Howard who equally didn't give a crap about his team. Why? Because Howard is a better player? He gets a pass? No, it's human nature. If you hate your job you're not going to be efficient or motivated. Same with basketball. Get over it, NBA players are people too.

The good news is Woodson stressing to everyone, that he wants them in shape for training camp, instead of using it to get fit.

We all saw Felton play here in New York, and we know his strengths and weaknesses. He was great in the 2 man game with Amare, but didn't have anything close to Jeremy Lin's court vision - and it's court vision that makes a point guard's game exciting. And even back when the trade was made, I had become more a little annoyed at Felton's tendency to call his own number rather than look for his teammates.

Maybe Lin indeed ticked off Dolan with the revised offer - but the kid might only get paid once in his lifetime, and he's gotta do what he's gotta do.

Knicks will match Lin, it will just be at the very last second. The NY Headlines will Read "Lin Just Matched in the Knick of Time".

lol. you mean like holding the Nets as a possible destination so Denver can get a better deal out of NY in a trade? So, were you one of those guys that wanted Melo to walk into FA so he could sign with us for less money?

everyone wants to get paid. lol at the idea that Felton would turn down guaranteed 5M if he were in the position to do so.

at the end of the day, what I care about is whether we're better with Lin. I say we are.

Lin might've had good court vision when he was in with the second unit but he did not elevate the starting line ups game at all. Melo can create for himself, but at least we got Felton who we already know can create for Amar'e making Amar'e effective. If Felton can play great PnR with Amar'e then he can play it well with Tyson too, and I'm excited about that.

Felton did get a little shoot first crazy at times, but we had Gallo and Chandler back then. Now we have Melo, Tyson, Kidd, and Camby who I'm sure will correct him. Or at least Kidd will get subbed in for him.

I seriously don't understand this move. I think most of us would agree Lin is overall better than Felton. I guess Dolan is either pissed or doesn't want to spend money anymore.

Whether the Nets were a possible destination for Melo is really speculation. You can tell by Melo's "who?" reaction that the Nets weren't his priority.

What we do know is that there was an offer for Lin from Houston. Then we know that offer was changed conveniently after Camby and Kidd became official on Thursday.

At the end of the day our starting line up was worse with Lin so I'm not sure where you get the notion that we're better with him. That seven game winning streak didn't hold a candle to the month of April when Woody took over and Melo carried the team on his back with his Eastern Conference Player of the Month performance. (Which, if you remember, was when Lin was out.)
