The Knicks recently met with free agent Grant Hill in Las Vegas, sources tell the Daily News.

Why? Isn't Hill going to LA?

Screw it we should sign Lin and trade him in a package with amare to Houston , for Kevin Martin and o e of their pfs of our choice, that way we get something in return for Lin instead of letting him walk for nothing, they would look good with Lin Amare and Dwight

Why do we even bother to talk to this guy?

On another note, if we let Lin go and sign Hill, are we officially the oldest team in the nba?

The team's responsibility is to put the best product on the floor. I don't really care if Lin is gone from a fan perspective but I find it extremely hard to accept that Felton is a better option. From a pure basketball perspective, Lin is already better than Felton. Not matching Lin makes zero sense in my mind.

Having said that, I always felt that Kidd would be the starting shooting guard so this move by no means eliminates bringing Lin back in my mind. A rotation of Lin, Kidd and Felton with JR smith is not too shabby in the backcourt.

I don't trust Dolan to make basketball decisions. he seems to make emotional ones. he doesnt seem opposed to spending money. I could see him thinking along the lines of this being a slight against him and perhaps he doesn't get over that. we'll see.

That is the only reason why I am nervous. If he doesn't get resigned, there is no way it's basketball or money. It's because Dolan felt disrespected and he is showing him a lesson. : /

I'd imagine we are even if we bring Lin back and don't get Hill. How could we not be? Kidd/Camby/Kurt Thomas

One thing that is pretty fascinating is that even with no cap room, we pretty much just turned the whole roster over.

Yep, it's not a sound basketball or business decision. This is Dolan getting piqued and favoring the guys who suck up to him. Felton showed up at Dolan's July 4th party, trying to schmooze his way into a starting job after he couldn't get offers from the rest of the league. Smacks of the same fascination and favoritism that Dolan showed to Isiah Thomas. Suck up to Dolan and get on his good side, and you can get him to intervene and back you up, overriding whatever good sense or advice your FO gives you. Felton looks like he's learned the trick from Isiah.

Letting Lin walk and replacing him with Felton is bad for basketball and bad for business, but that type of thing never stopped Dolan with Isiah, nor will it stop Dolan with Felton.

How could Dolan become a billionaire businessman if he let his ego and emotion get in the way of himself making a decision?

After all that is occurring, the knicks being quiet and not saying anything. I think Lin is a goner. I just dont see Felton coming here to share backcourt duties with lin.

IN all this, I wonder how jkidd is feeling, he probably anticipated mentoring lin, not he has to be a backup to felton.

People talk about how Lin won't be able to sustain his linsanity run, we didnt need that. Even after linsanity when melo, amare and him were on the court they were 6-1. Lins stretch that he put together during linsanity and after was better than any stretch in feltons career.

The decision to keep lin is probably dolans way of sticking it to him. Dolan obviously felt slighted by the new offer and was probably extremely upset about what happened.

Yet that is all undone if we lose Lin. If we keep Lin, I'm thrilled with the offseason. If not, what we've done makes no sense to me. One of the best things about Kidd coming was that he could mentor Lin. Kidd is not the same player that he was even two years ago. Love the Camby move. Kurt Thomas is the new Juwan Howard. It's great to have him back for sentimental reasons, but he's not going to be a big contributor this year.
