James White? Jason Kidd? With all the moves we have made, not buying that we are going to leave ourselves so weak at SG while Shump is a huge question mark. Not buying it!

I still say the most logical explanation is that Felton is being brought in to play a lot of SG with no affordable quality SGs available.

Not saying I am definitely right, but to me this scenario is the most logical.

You do realize they still have more roster spots available and there are vets out there. Not ideal options, but neither is Felton at the 2.

The only two real bits of recent info appear to be:

1) SAS says Lin is gone.

2) Jared Jeffries says he believes the Knicks will not match!
Tanking again, I suppose. Is there any other way?

Knicks effed up with this felton trade. Rash decision. It wasn't like teams were knocking down Feltons door.

If the team was planning to give up assets in order to strengthen the 2 guard slot, then Mayo would have been the direction to go in, not Felton. Felton is clearly seen as a replacement for Lin.

Felton wasn't terrible two seasons ago, and had excellent chemistry with Amare. But this is now Anthony's team, and a completely different system.

Maybe we're involved in a 3 way for dwight or someone else and us not matching Lin is part of the deal to get Houston involved, I can't fathom why we wouldn't match after paying all these other scrubs for the past 10 years.

Lin will be matched, Lin is gone, SAS said this, he's racist, he's not racist, Lin is mediocre, Felton is good, Felton is mediocre, Lin is good, twitter, twitter, twitter, whah, whah, STFU, STFU you.

That's basically it, occasionally some good posts.

Lots of speculation on the Knicks not matching Lin. SAS claims he was told by multiple sources the Knicks ain't matching.

Jared Jeffries also claiming Knicks ain't matching.

Board still arguing on how Lin is better than Felton

Camby
Novak
Kidd
Felton

All add up to very close to $15M in the year that Lin will make $15M. But that combination together doesn't equal Lin's impact to the Knicks.

Just no way to justify letting him go.

I do realize that... that's why I said there are no QUALITY SG's available. All these moves we have made and we are going with a league minimum gut to play 30 minutes a night at the 2??? I don't see it. We are trying to win a title, not just hold down the fort.

2 years is a long time in nba. Felton was garbage last season. I would not feel confident with him as starter coming into season.

Yep, it's not a sound basketball or business decision. This is Dolan getting piqued and favoring the guys who suck up to him. Felton showed up at Dolan's July 4th party, trying to schmooze his way into a starting job after he couldn't get offers from the rest of the league. Smacks of the same fascination and favoritism that Dolan showed to Isiah Thomas. Suck up to Dolan and get on his good side, and you can get him to intervene and back you up, overriding whatever good sense or advice your FO gives you. Felton looks like he's learned the trick from Isiah.

Letting Lin walk and replacing him with Felton is bad for basketball and bad for business, but that type of thing never stopped Dolan with Isiah, nor will it stop Dolan with Felton.

I actually think this is the most logical speculation so far.

Isn't he better than Felton whom we're paying $3.3M per?

no

In what ways is Felton better?

C.J. is a better shooter, better defender, knows his role better.

They didn't have the assets to get Mayo.

Thanks for the updates, guys.

My input for the moment -- Felton is still fat. I'm going to be saying this all season long. Shiiiiiiett

He just stated it like it was a matter of fact, like he knows for sure--financial reasons (not worth the money) the main reason. He did say that Yao is working behind the scenes with Houston and got Houston to raise their offer.

Lol this is going to go down as one of the biggest fails in Knick history. I'm sick to my stomach having fat ass Felton running the point.

No because hes making rational points. There is no rational argument not to match Lin.
