How do you mean?

the felton trade is on hold right now because with lin's salary it doesn't work anymore. there's a different percentage you can return in a trade once you're over the lux tax. 150% vs 125% i think.

I don't know if I'm going to jump ship. But I will definitely be rooting for Lin to pick up where he left off. And when he beats us and drops 40, I will be cheering for him. I was a Knick fan before JD took over and I'll be one when he's gone but I don't know if I can take this any more.

Stefan Bondy ‏@NYDNInterNets
Jason Kidd arrested for DWI the morning after learning he's backing up Raymond Felton.

WHAT?! Anyone heard this?

And now everyone making fun of Grunwald understands why he went out of his way to try to avoid being served with the offer sheet. This S&T is probably going to fall through now that we need to include Bibby or Davis. We don't have enough cash to send Portland to off-set those bums.

Melo did not like Linsanity and the attention he got and will receive. He is a total f*cking prick of a teammate. Where is the f*cking support? If you don't think he also has a say in this - as well as Woodson - you don't know what's going on.

I asked Melo if #Knicks would be OK at PG with J-Kidd & Felton: "I mean, what other point guards are we going to get at this point?"

Bye Lin.

that's a rousing endorsement ...

It averages out to $8M.

It's clearly an attempt to either get him away or stick the Knicks with a big luxury tax bill.

The Rockets would not give him a Max over 4 years.

This is an exceptional situation, one that Melo clearly does not understand.

At this point let him walk and make a run at CP3 next summer. He will get destroyed in the west and we'll all laugh.

To be clear, Melo wasn’t taking a shot at Lin, he was taking a shot at the Rockets for the ridiculous $14.9M balloon in Year 3.

Yes...but people will still hear what they want to hear. I didn't take what Anthony said as a shot at Lin...he was basically saying what everyone knows...that 3rd year is a wrench...that's why it's called a poison pill. Probably what the front office told him and the other players...I mean is really that hard to believe that the Knicks sent down a message to players to say the same thing and be on the same page?

But Melo should know better.

He didn't say anything that was wrong. He basically said that the deal was a killer because that's what it was. What should he say? "Oh that deal ain't bad"? He'd really be stupid for saying that if people are questioning his intelligence based on the comment he actually made. The deal itself is bad. Doesn't mean that the Knicks shouldn't match Lin (they should). But bad it is still. I mean what can he do? Call out Dolan and the FO for not matching right away? I know that's what people want him to say right and do right? Maybe he should. But how do we crucify him if he doesn't. When was the last time any player went that far? And how many times has that happened? Yes, I would have loved for him to look into the camera and say "you got to match that offer, come on"...but if he doesn't doesn't mean it validates all the conspiracies the anti-Melo group has on him. Honestly, Stoudemire could come out and say that. So could Chandler. Have they?

Would be a little weird if for the second decade in a row, the Rockets get the asian market. I mean, they're in Houston, nothing special. And this guy is Yao's friend too.

Been told Felton deal not finalized. B/c Lin offer sheet delivered, current Felton S&T no longer works. NYK now needs to add Bibby or Baron.

im a huge lin fan but matching this contract is very scary, if its true that since were over the cap we would have to pay him 30 mill for one season is nuts... and what if he really was just a flash in the pan or the perfect storm of MDA system melo/stat being out and nothing left to lose, we would be stuck with him

and its not if lin couldnt of stayed in NY if he wanted to hes a smart kid he went for the max money up front, it was his choice to sign the poison pill contract. so i refuse to get down on the knicks over this if thay pass on him

the more i think about it the more i like the idea of passing, he had a chance to play vs the heat at 85% but didnt want to risk it and he only played 26 games, and theres just to much risk even if he isnt a total flop who says he even fits with melo also if we pass we could set ourselves back up in the running for cp3

idk maybe im just trying to look on the bright side or trying to hard to find one

Funny because that sounds exactly like what TKF said about Gallo and it got him crucified. At least Gallinari was a top 10 pick.
