No, he called the Houston offer sheet "that ridiculous contract."

I mean, I know Melo probably said it with a smile and it was more like "ridiculously good" than "bad" -- but it's really a poor choice of words.

Honestly, I don't see why everyone is getting so mad about that quote. It is a ridiculous contract, plain and simple. I don't think people should get so mad at Melo for saying that..

But that's just it...maybe he meant it sarcastically. Maybe he's just reading the script that I would not be surprised that Dolan has already sent out a memo telling everyone to basically STFU and remember who pays your bills (he's done that before plenty of times). Who knows. But nothing proves that he's the blame for this, that he wants this, that he's the reason behind this, that he's the Anti-Christ...and so on and so forth...which is where the mob frenzy mentality is taking this.

IT IS A RIDICULOUS CONTRACT--that we should match.

Some of you guys are just being retarted by saying your no longer going to be knick fans. Look i love lin too and i think he can be a very good player but its obivous he didn't want to play here anymore.

The knicks told him they would match than he goes tell's houston to screw us over the same team who cut him wheres the loyalty? out of all the teams to sign with ur going to choose the team who cut you than screw us over an change the contract?.

Let him go to houston i want to see how good he is with out Dantoni, cause mike had felton looking like an allstar too.

I def want the Knicks to match Lin but the thing I'm really curious about is Kidd. He was brought here partly to mentor Lin and teach him everything he knows. He was willing to back up Lin because he knew Lin was a franchise talent and the pg of the future here. Now, if Lin leaves, where is Kidd's mindset? Does he want to back up Felton whom he may feel superior to since Felton really has no backing by the legion of Knicks fans and Lin fans? If Lin goes, I have no problem with Kidd starting and Felton coming off the bench but I definitely wonder about what Kidd has to say about this since he was just recently quoted as looking forward to personally shaping Lin's development.

Seriously. Lin won't take this team over the top. People are devastated over losing a guy who isn't as good as some are making him out to be [/quote]
No, that's not the point. The point is we might have a situation where we lose a useful piece just because the alphas on the team couldn't get along with him.

No their up in arms about a paraphrased version of that, which claims Melo calling the offer a ridiculous contract

Go figure...

No he actually said that I believe.

The guy who quoted that on Twitter said he made it up...

Because it's hypocritical for Melo to say this when he has the type of contract he has. He makes more than LeBron.

It was the renegotiation that was the killer. The question is why did Lin do that? Looks like he did not want the Knicks to match.

Why didn't he want us to match?

Why are we assuming it was totally on Lin? Couldn't Houston have redid it of their own choosing?

Lin would still have to agree. They can't just go change it. Lin has to sign it.

But again, the same reason there's no reason to blame Lin for wanting more, there's no reason to blame Melo for a damn comment. I mean holy mother cow. Why do we need to always find a blame for something and then look to burn it at the stake?

LeBron took less because there's no state tax in FLA. Read the damn quote about Lin before talking about Melo's comment being hypocritical...

Kidd came here because there were two teams willing to pay him and he thought we gave him the best chance to win. This mentoring Lin stuff is all find and dandy but its media driven. I am sure Kidd would have been happy to work with Lin but thats not why he is here.

SMH I'm with you man!

All 200+ pages have been based solely on emotion and on nothing factual. Somebody yelled FIRE! then everybody started running without even knowing why. Except there is no fire. There isn't even smoke. Yet guys are still running. Hmmm...

Knicks fans will always be knicks fans, but this could be the last straw for a few...they will take a sabbatical...

The dark days are already starting. Kidd getting a DWI around the time the Felton trade came out...

After taxes, Melo is still making more than Lebron, which is just wrong, considering he's not half the player Lebron is.
