LeBron took less because there's no state tax in FLA. Read the damn quote about Lin before talking about Melo's comment being hypocritical...

What's wrong with Melo's quote isn't so much what he said, but what he didn't say. I want him to fully support him coming back at all costs. Think about if we had CP3 and he were the one to be leaving. I'm certain he would give a better endorsement and actually perhaps do more in his power to have him stay...

After taxes, Melo is still making more than Lebron, which is just wrong, considering he's not half the player Lebron is.

Really???? You do know Lebron made the most money of any NBA Player last year including endorsements. 53 Mil.

Melo made 23M

This board just got real sad. I wouldn't be surprised if no superstars wants to sign here after 2014-15 with all the media blitz and hate a TEAM'S STAR player gets.

Brook Lopez is getting a max deal and Lopez has had almost no impact on the Nets fortunes over the past four years.

So what you want him to do is to stop...think this through...make himself believe that he's not worth his contract...then figure out that Lin would be loved by a lot of fans...and that they he should say something else other than that contract is a poison bill contract? once again...they call it a "poison pill" for a reason. Did anyone (other than TKF) refer to Carmelo's contract as a "poison pill"?

Stop overreacting and overreading things. Jeeezus the panic that's setting in is just nuts.

given that the team has yet to refuse the match, it is in poor taste to call it "ridiculous." that would be like STAT commenting on the Melo proposed trade and saying, 'that's too much to give up for Melo.'. I know people are going to defend it because it's Melo or because it's Lin, but really it's not cool when it's still in limbo.

Dolan choose Melo over D'Antoni...

Melo has a say in this if he wants. If he genuinely wants Lin back, he will say so. A real endorsement, not a fake, half-hearted one with backhanded insults. He is supposed to be the face of this franchise...

Exactly. Melo's a cyunt.

A sign of people seeing what they want to see to further their agenda. There are plenty of posters that bash Lin. You've been consistently one of them.

No he said "Yeah. I made it up. SMH" -- he was saying sarcastically, 'Of course I didn't make up the quote.'

Either way, weather he said it or not, its not having an impact on anything that is about to go down. Like I've said before, these are the kinds of contracts rarely seen, and no one knows how to react to them.

For the Record, I too think year three is ridiculous...

I don't see an reason to believe that Lin "wanted to leave NY"... what, he was supposed to turn down the extra money to not "screw the Knicks"???

Yeah because athletes do that all the time. Gimme a break folks.

Why are we assuming it was totally on Lin? Couldn't Houston have redid it of their own choosing?

Because that wouldn't fit some of the people's agenda. Simple as that.

Those people assume that the Rockets didn't want a scrub like Lin and just wanted to troll Knicks. That Lin should feel appreciated that the Knicks is the only team that want him. They wouldn't have a response, a logical one at the very least, if the Rockets really wanted Lin and try their best to stop the Knicks from matching the offer sheet on their own accord by increasing the offer.

Just look at the Omer Asik's offer sheet from Morey, it's the same 5/5/15 contract that the Rockets agreed to.

There is one positive... with the loss of Lin that will almost secure the loss of TKF.

j4remi wrote:The "ridiculous contract" quote was a paraphrase of the above quote...I went all the back through pages of nonsense just to find the origin of it. I haven't seen anyone reference the "ridiculous contract" quote on twitter and you KNOW that writers would be all over that like flies to ****...but the quote doesn't seem to exist outside of this board. The top quote, which is harmless and includes an endorsement of Lin...is the quote.

It's on Hahn's twitter. And it's not harmless... Lin signed that "ridiculous contract" so a criticism of the contract is a criticism of Lin.
