He's dumb. And we're never getting CP3.

I have a feeling we are going to match at the very last second to smack houston in the face for the mcgrady trade and first round picks.

he just never seem thrilled about the idea of being a PG in New York...he would rather just be a somebody in Houston.

maybe he just wasn't cut out for the pressure that comes with playing in NY

REALLY? That doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. He could have fooled me. Lin was getting kicked around the league after being undrafted until the Knicks put him on the No. 1 basketball stage in the world. Lin has more highlight memories in the 25 games he had with us than a lot NBA players have in a lifetime.

Listen guys, I don't do things for attention or for shock value. Granted I can be a little knee jerk sometimes.

I usually come back to Earth soon thereafter.

But I just can't go back to watching Ray Felton and thinking that's good enough to win a title. Can't do it.

Lin is way better than people realize. His heart, smarts and skills are all special.

Felton is the opposite of him in many respects. He's a bum.

We have absolutely zero chance at a title without Lin. It was already going to be very difficult but it was possible and therefore we were contenders.

Without him we're pretty much a joke.

As far as Melo, it's pretty shocking. He thinks he's good enough to win without a special PG? He's not. I think he's worth his contract if he defers and understands his role. This shows that he doesn't even think that's required. I've always known Melo was not a bright guy but I thought his heart was in the right place and he knew that he could win with a great supporting cast that played unselfishly. This quote shows he doesn't get it.

This whole thing is worse than Dwight going to the Nets and I thought that was about the most devastating thing that could happen to the Knicks. This is worse.

Are we holding a popularity contest or trying to win games. People have been heckling Dolan for recklessly spending money, and now that he's allowed the "basketball" people to make "basketball" decisions, everyone wants to complain. HYPOCRITES.

It's a bit different in this case. Overspending on Lin doesn't have much effect on our cap because we are already over the cap. In previous cases we would be under the cap and sign someone to a ridiculous contract affecting our cap space or using up an MLE.

With regards to Lin resigning him has no negative effect on our ability to sign or make deals.

Or maybe he got a cold shoulder from Melo and Woodson cause they're not down with anybody but Melo being a playmaker.

Please we wined a dined him...why hasn't Lin ever been quoted about saying he wants to come back to NY...he has been really quiet.

please find me a quote this offseason that shows me he wanted to be hear...seems like he was doing everything possible to get out of town.

I would highly recommend--for those of you freaking out--just being patient until Tuesday. This doesn't seem healthy for some of you. I'm still excited about this team regardless of what happens--though I prefer we match--and I know where I'll be opening night.

Regrettably man, nobody here seems to want to hear any voice of reason....so you're fighting a losing battle. You're right, NOTHING has happened yet, but everybody is already acting as if it has. Now everybody is turning on Melo for the most asinine reasons. It's a mob mentality in here. Logic and common sense went out the window a day ago.

I can't wait to see when the KNICKS match Lin and the full story comes out and all this overreacting gets proven to be emotional bullS**t.

I read somewhere that Yao communicates regularly with Lin, is that playing a role in Lin's desire to play for the rockets?

I pretty much agree with all your points, but what can we do now? The Knicks organization doesn't seem to think that Lin is all that important to them. I believe the Knicks will be a good team even without Lin but a championship is out of the question. You're wrong on Melo, that quote about the ridiculous contract was made up. If anyone is to blame its the Knicks management.

It wasn't made up. He said SMH right after, indicating that it was sarcasm.
