Regrettably man, nobody here seems to want to hear any voice of reason....so you're fighting a losing battle. You're right, NOTHING has happened yet, but everybody is already acting as if it has. Now everybody is turning on Melo for the most asinine reasons. It's a mob mentality in here. Logic and common sense went out the window a day ago.

I can't wait to see when the KNICKS match Lin and the full story comes out and all this overreacting gets proven to be emotional bullS**t.

Please, get it into your head and just accept it. Lin is not coming back. According to Felton, the Knicks told him that they're not re-signing Lin. It's done.

Carmelo comments about Lin

"Jeremy Lin can be very, very good. He's young. This is his second year in the league, his first time actually playing in the NBA, so he's definitely taking advantage of this oportunity. I don't think you've seen the best of Jeremy Lin yet. We're hoping he comes back, he's prepared and ready. For what I'm hearing he seems like he is."

Lin has the chance, with a lot of work in the offseason and better decision making in game, to be a quasi-transcendent talent - just as Kidd was.

Felton, by virtue of his tunnel vision, has no chance to become that kind of player.

With point guards, it's the vision thing that counts most.

I don't think the difference between Lin and Felton is the difference between winning or not winning a championship THIS YEAR. The question is the future and the future seems to be going after CP3. But matching Lin wouldn't seem to hurt that pursuit.

Lin is way better than people realize. His heart, smarts and skills are all special.

Felton is the opposite of him in many respects. He's a bum.

We have absolutely zero chance at a title without Lin. It was already going to be very difficult but it was possible and therefore we were contenders.

Without him we're pretty much a joke.

As far as Melo, it's pretty shocking. He thinks he's good enough to win without a special PG? He's not. I think he's worth his contract if he defers and understands his role. This shows that he doesn't even think that's required. I've always known Melo was not a bright guy but I thought his heart was in the right place and he knew that he could win with a great supporting cast that played unselfishly. This quote shows he doesn't get it.

This whole thing is worse than Dwight going to the Nets and I thought that was about the most devastating thing that could happen to the Knicks. This is worse.

Thank you.

trade melobury ... we don't need his greedy me-me-me @$$ and la-la

So you think were a championship team without Melo?

Here's a preview:

"But we're fans, we can only go by the information available to us. If we all acted like robots then they're be nothing to talk about on this board.

"You just like to argue and think you're better than everyone else because you waited to see what actually happened."

THAT's what you're going to see.

Just to clarify because it's so crazy to see misconceptions take hold ...

The

Melo

quote

about

"that ridiculous contract"

was

NOT

made

up.

He said it. It's all over the place. Reported by multiple people. He said it.

The silence on the Knicks part is telling. They probably won't match.

Knicks board:

F*** Melo

F*** Woodson

F*** Dolan

F*** Grunwald

F***Isaiah

Hail Lin.

Pathetic. Just pathetic.

Gotta agree. I like Lin, but this board is becoming pathetic.

Yeah KG, step off the ledge. If Lin wanted to be back at all costs he would have gotten word from Knicks prior to signing anything that they'll match etc.. Instead of just squeezing them and saying take it or leave it.

You think he's the next cp3 and there's no evidence to show that... We're better with him, but we aren't lost without... He doesn't bring us a ton closer to a ring with us, and we aren't that much further away without.

That sums it up nicely.

All the talk of being a contender goes away with this move. Felton is a nice backup, nothing more. Kidd is damn near 40. We'd still need a PG.

People need to stop playing dumb about Melo. I've given him the benefit of the doubt but look at what happened this season. I'm not going to bother trying to interpret what he said in the SAS interview, but what's clear is that D'Antoni wanted to ship him out for Deron. Granted D'Antoni was an idiot, but you can't just ignore the fact that a player clashes with a coach like that.

20 games guys??? 20 games?

I am not the biggest fan but its not like we traded Melo or Tyson chandler her....Lin was a secondary piece. I thought he could be a good player but to dub him as the key to winning a championship is a gross exaggeration.

And stop looking at this like its the Knicks FO fault, Melo fault, or woodson fault...Lin choose this path if we didn't match.

Turn ur anger at him...he didn't have to raise that offer sheet. He didn't have to sign there. He clearly didn't want NY.

I say we match the offer sheet...hold him for half the year than trade him.

we were doing pretty dam well with the chemistry , albeit we weren't rockstars with mozgov on the roster etc.

But in 2 years melo's been here he's done nothing but be a pampered whining diva
I don't like george karl but there has to be a legit reason for him to harp on melo being a ball hogger right ?
