I am not the biggest fan but its not like we traded Melo or Tyson chandler her....Lin was a secondary piece. I thought he could be a good player but to dub him as the key to winning a championship is a gross exaggeration.

And stop looking at this like its the Knicks FO fault, Melo fault, or woodson fault...Lin choose this path if we didn't match.

Turn ur anger at him...he didn't have to raise that offer sheet. He didn't have to sign there. He clearly didn't want NY.

I say we match the offer sheet...hold him for half the year than trade him.

If that happened, there'd be a lot of joy around here. D'Antoni had it right. We should have gone after Deron Williams instead of Melo.

Listen guys, I don't do things for attention or for shock value. Granted I can be a little knee jerk sometimes.

I usually come back to Earth soon thereafter.

But I just can't go back to watching Ray Felton and thinking that's good enough to win a title. Can't do it.

Lin is way better than people realize. His heart, smarts and skills are all special.

Felton is the opposite of him in many respects. He's a bum.

We have absolutely zero chance at a title without Lin. It was already going to be very difficult but it was possible and therefore we were contenders.

Without him we're pretty much a joke.

As far as Melo, it's pretty shocking. He thinks he's good enough to win without a special PG? He's not. I think he's worth his contract if he defers and understands his role. This shows that he doesn't even think that's required. I've always known Melo was not a bright guy but I thought his heart was in the right place and he knew that he could win with a great supporting cast that played unselfishly. This quote shows he doesn't get it.

This whole thing is worse than Dwight going to the Nets and I thought that was about the most devastating thing that could happen to the Knicks. This is worse.

This post is a great explanation of how I feel. Look, I can't tell the future; maybe he ends up being a Darren Collison. But chances are that he won't. He has a high basketball IQ and STRIVES to play with a high basketball IQ. Realize the absolute sick amount of work ethic it took to take his game - the quality of on par with overseas comp - to a legitimate NBA player. This kid has the chance to be special AND in NYC, and we're giving this up for RAYMOND FELTON?

Let's get real here... The offer to Lin is ridiculous. Possibly paying 15M to Lin in the 3rd year is ridiculous. How many PG's are making that kind of money right now? Deron, CP3, D-Rose. Those players are proven STARS

I love Lin. The story & everything, but this kid was 24 hrs from being cut by the Knicks. 24 F'N hours. He has a total of 26 NBA starts under his belt. Yes he made a great opportunity of his situation, but I'm sorry, the way he chose not to play in game 3&4 didn't sit well with me.

If the reports about Lin working as a double agent of sorts are true then his time here is over. One thing Dolan has zero tolerance with is any sort of insubordination.

A healthy "superstar" should be able to take a bunch of scrubs to the 8th seed, he couldn't even do that with the Nets and was unmotivated 70% of the time last season. What's wrong with Melo's quote isn't so much what he said, but what he didn't say. I want him to fully support him coming back at all costs.
