Anthony is one of these guys who, for his own good, should get off twitter and talk less to the press.

I am not the biggest fan but its not like we traded Melo or Tyson chandler her....Lin was a secondary piece. I thought he could be a good player but to dub him as the key to winning a championship is a gross exaggeration.

And stop looking at this like its the Knicks FO fault, Melo fault, or woodson fault...Lin choose this path if we didn't match.

Turn ur anger at him...he didn't have to raise that offer sheet. He didn't have to sign there. He clearly didn't want NY.

I say we match the offer sheet...hold him for half the year than trade him.

If that happened, there'd be a lot of joy around here. D'Antoni had it right. We should have gone after Deron Williams instead of Melo.

What's your beef with Melo? What has Deron Williams did with his 1 1/2 year with the Nets?

I usually come back to Earth soon thereafter.

But I just can't go back to watching Ray Felton and thinking that's good enough to win a title. Can't do it.

Lin is way better than people realize. His heart, smarts and skills are all special.

Felton is the opposite of him in many respects. He's a bum.

We have absolutely zero chance at a title without Lin. It was already going to be very difficult but it was possible and therefore we were contenders.

Without him we're pretty much a joke.

As far as Melo, it's pretty shocking. He thinks he's good enough to win without a special PG? He's not. I think he's worth his contract if he defers and understands his role. This shows that he doesn't even think that's required. I've always known Melo was not a bright guy but I thought his heart was in the right place and he knew that he could win with a great supporting cast that played unselfishly. This quote shows he doesn't get it.

This whole thing is worse than Dwight going to the Nets and I thought that was about the most devastating thing that could happen to the Knicks. This is worse.

This post is a great explanation of how I feel. Look, I can't tell the future; maybe he ends up being a Darren Collison. But chances are that he won't. He has a high basketball IQ and STRIVES to play with a high basketball IQ. Realize the absolute sick amount of work ethic it took to take his game - the quality of on par with overseas comp - to a legitimate NBA player. This kid has the chance to be special AND in NYC, and we're giving this up for RAYMOND FELTON?

Let's get real here... The offer to Lin is ridiculous. Possibly paying 15M to Lin in the 3rd year is ridiculous. How many PG's are making that kind of money right now? Deron, CP3, D-Rose. Those players are proven STARS

I love Lin. The story & everything, but this kid was 24 hrs from being cut by the Knicks. 24 F'N hours. He has a total of 26 NBA starts under his belt. Yes he made a great opportunity of his situation, but I'm sorry, the way he chose not to play in game 3&4 didn't sit well with me.

This is NY. People go to work feeling less than 85% everyday. Bottom line for me, dude should have given it a go...

This was just yesterday. Lets hang on and overreact to every silly quote though. http://hoopshype.com/blogs/aderoa/carmelo-anthony

That was his public statement. Melo hates playing with a PG who controls the ball (or a coach who plays to that philosophy) and that's the kind of PG Lin is.

Spoken like someone who doesn't have any actual knowledge of the game or the player he's trying to comment on.

It's amazing that people can just flat out make stuff up and not only pass it along, but believe their own stupidity as being sound and rational.

Dolan is in charge of multi-million (billion?) dollar corporation, you can't be seen as weak or someone you can walk all over. He's not going to let some kid treat him like a fool. Just the way it is.

I'm done reading this board til the Lin fans leave.. This is the Knicks board, you're a fan of the KNICKS, not the LINs, so stop whining, EVERYTHING has been rumors and heresay simply because the Knicks traded for Felton... just simply stupid to just assume Lin is gone because we trade for Felton.. Felton gives us great depth at the guard positions.. now JKidd can play 2 guard off the bench behind Smith until Shump comes back.. everyone needs to stop freaking out and attacking Melo just because rumors said we may not match Lin, CHILL OUT UNTIL SOMETHING ACTUALLY HAPPENS, BE MORE INTELLIGENT PLEASE(SOME OF YOU)

Deron is so overrated in RealGM it's pathetic. A healthy "superstar" should be able to take a bunch of scrubs to the 8th seed, he couldn't even do that with the Nets and was unmotivated 70% of the time last season. And yes I'm sure you rather have all of his low efficient scoring over Melo. Get real.

Fair enough. I'm just making sure people realize that it WAS said. The context and all of that -- I think that's a fair subject of debate. But people were saying it's made up. It's not. He said it.

We need to establish facts -- thus my elongated post lol.

Carry on.

LeBron took less because there's no state tax in FLA. Read the damn quote about Lin before talking about Melo's comment being hypocritical...

What's wrong with Melo's quote isn't so much what he said, but what he didn't say. I want him to fully support him coming back at all costs. Think about if we had CP3 and he were the one to be leaving. I'm certain he would give a better endorsement and actually perhaps do more in his power to have him stay...

Yea well Lin isnt anywhere near as good as CP3 so there is that

Regrettably man, nobody here seems to want to hear any voice of reason....so you're fighting a losing battle. You're right, NOTHING has happened yet, but everybody is already acting as if it has. Now everybody is turning on Melo for the most asinine reasons. It's a mob mentality in here. Logic and common sense went out the window a day ago.

I can't wait to see when the KNICKS match Lin and the full story comes out and all this overreacting gets proven to be emotional bullS**t.

Please, get it into your head and just accept it. Lin is not coming back. According to Felton, the Knicks told him that they're not re-signing Lin. It's done.

Oh yeah??

Just like CP3 to the Lakers was DONE.

D12 staying in Orlando for 12-13 season was DONE.

D12 to the Nets was DONE.

Point is, nothing is DONE until it's factual and on paper. So far, no one has produced FACT or PAPER. So, unless Felton himself told you this PERSONALLY and you truly put that much credibility into what someone who isn't even a KNICK yet says, it is not DONE...it is simply hearsay, rumor and overreaction!
