Knicks going this far, giving up this much to make the trade = Lin is probably gone IMO.

Just calling it like I see it. They're going out of their way to get Felton. Something seems to have changed.

Still can't believe this is happening.

KnicksGod this is why I am so negative all the time about this organization.

You just know the alarm clock will sound no matter how happy of a Knick dream you are having.

... Knicks are going to the ends of the Earth to make this Felton trade. It's a sign that they really feel they have to have Felton at all costs ... and it's only a very short step from there to figure out why they need Felton so badly.

Don't shoot the messenger. But this is looking very bad IMHSO.

This thread and all this talk is a complete waste of time. I understand why we're uneasy, nervous, and even afraid, but the fact is that nothing is certain yet. The fear is all in our minds.

I'm sure the FO doesn't even know whether or not they are keeping Lin yet. They have three days to figure it out and I'm sure they will use all of those three days.

These rumors about Lin, Dolan, Melo are absurd. Stop listening to everything and disregard these "sources." These "sources" are no different than any of you posting your opinions on the matter.

I remember during The Decision, I saw so many "sources" saying LeBron was going to the Knicks and was close to signing with New York. Did that happen? NO. Grant Hill was supposed to sign last year. Did that happen? No.

It's all bull. Let sh*t pan out and stop worrying so much. You'll still be alive when it's over.

My opinion: I believe they will sign Lin for three major reasons being discussed before: his marketability, loyalty to the fanbases all across the world who support Lin, and his ability to play well as a good fit for this team (especially in the 4th quarter). Having Felton is only a bonus. We saw what happened in the playoffs when we needed old ass Mike Bibby running the show. Why have this problem again when we are trying to win a title?

That being said, if Lin doesn't sign, it's not that big of a deal to quit being a Knicks fan. If you really think the title falls in the hands of Lin, then you are delusional. Carmelo Anthony + Stoudemire need to elevate their games (I think Melo is already phenomenal, I'm looking more at Stoudemire) if we want to win a title. Felton + Kidd is enough at the point and with Woodson at the helm, I'm confident in this team.

Are we holding a popularity contest or trying to win games. People have been heckling Dolan for recklessly spending money, and now that he's allowed the "basketball" people to make "basketball" decisions, everyone wants to complain. HYPOCRITES.

It sounds like he's making an emotional decision...that's actually bad business, imo. To me, he's going to lose more money out of this than make if he were to match Lin.

WTF!!!!!!!!!!

so let me get this straight, they were 50/50 on matching Fields, but they won't match lin for 5 million more over 3 years?

We heard "50/50" from Brian Colangelo. We're hearing Knicks won't match from Screamin A Smith.

Question - Can we just wait until we hear from the KNICKS ORGANIZATION before we start flipping out?

Answer - NO.

Yeah because athletes do that all the time. Gimme a break folks.

All he needed to do was apparently just start with that 3 year deal. Changing it once it comes out and a reaction gotten was in poor taste. Unless Melo called him and said "what are you crazy? Theyll match...ask for more!!" (and i would not be surprised that some of you knuckleheads thinks that could have happened) its all Lin, his agent and Morey bringing this confrontation on. Sure they could have been surprised at the apparent knick reaction (see Lins comments expressing same) but how on earth does Melo become the focal point of this? I mean honestly how dense are some of you people?

Yeah if Houston can force a change in the deal, in order to gain an advantage on retaining him, whether Lin wants the changes or not, that's one thing... But if Lin went back to the table after he saw how desperate and unwavering the KNicks seemed to be on bringing him back, and believed he could get more out of them.... That's something different.

I'm not sure which is the case.. But the latter seizes to be a "get your money Lin!" "how can you expect him not to take money" type of thing.. and becomes a more 'he seems to care more about the $ than where he plays'

Well I'll always love the Knicks somewhere -- and I won't be repetitive about it in the future so that others can enjoy the team and be fans, they have that right-- but I can't support this decision at all. It's one of the worst and most depressing of all time. It would finish me.

To put it in context: This is worse than the trade that King made to get Gerald Wallace, losing a 6th pick for nothing. This is worse.
