Melo said he hasn't spoken with anyone in the #Knicks organization to see what's going to happen with Lin.

If this is true it reflects poorly on Melo.

The dude is practicing for the **** Olympics and spending time with his buddies, why the **** does that reflect poorly on him. He's enjoying a once in a lifetime experience.

Maybe a **** 30-minute phone call.

he's still incredibly tradable

I hate to say things like this, but ever since the middle of this past season this has been glaringly obvious to me: If Lin was black rather than Asian, SAS would LOVE him. Would absolutely LOVE him. It's not a question in my mind. If there was a young black PG who averaged 18 and 8 in 25 games as a starter, SAS would absolutely be drooling. But he is Asian, so SAS considers him a marginal player.

i agree.

I agree also, but Stephen A is a moron. Its horrible that the guys who are in the media have limited knowledge or biased views on their sport.

Yes. Read what Alan Hahn said. Makes a lot of sense. (Reposting from earlier)

Alan Hahn (via twitter/sulia)

My personal opinion is you just don't let a young, immensely popular player like this just walk without any compensation. This kid just fell out of the sky, a gift from the basketball gods. If you match, he can't be traded until Dec. 15. Can't deal him to Houston until next summer. But these will be a market for him regardless. Just my opinion, but letting him walk for nothing is hard for me to understand.

No, it doesn't have anything to do with Melo if we let Lin go.

But it still shows stupidity on Melo's part, and it indicates possible selfishness > Doesn't think we need Lin that badly, doesn't consider himself overpaid but thinks Lin earning $5M less for one season is ridiculous.

It's a bad sign. I almost feel like even if Lin comes back, Melo thinks of himself as way better than he really is and that's ... scary. C'mon you know what I'm talking about. I feel like we found out something today we didn't know before -- Melo thinks he's closer to a LeBron-level player than he really is.

Just found out today... really... so people do believe when Melo said he had nothing to do with D'Antoni's firing? lol, don't be delusional. It's obvious Melo's butthurt over Lin's popularity in NY. Pretty sad really, I'll probably follow Linsanity to Houston if the kid is traded; will be back rooting for the Knicks when two faced Melo is off this team.

And Lin very unproven

I don't see how Felton is a better fit. He played well the 1st time he was here with Amare but this is Melo's team now. I don't see him playing as well this 2nd time around especially without D'Antoni

He plays defense, runs pick and rolls with Amare, and most importantly is wired as a distributer

Yes he did run pick and rolls with Amare, but again that was when Melo was not on the Team. I don't see him doing that on this new Knicks team. I remember Felton taking a lot of shots when he was here. He averaged 14.8 attempts per game shooting 42%.

shouldn't we be able to dump stat over the next 3 years? Joe Johnson just got dumped with 4 **** years left

then we wouldn't be over the cap even with Lin and dolan wouldn't have to pay the luxury tax, right?

This is a DARK, DARK day for the Knicks franchise. We may still be a good team, but this crushes our championship hopes...and it crushes the hope of the fans. We will be cursed. This team cannot be looked at the same...there will always be a negative energy with this team and its fanbase, especially when Lin fulfills his potential in HOU.

So you're saying that players should never express concern with what the FO is doing with other players? Cause I remember Kobe being pretty vocal when the Lakers traded Odom.
