It's wrong for Lin to say he's 85% and infer he's not ready to play but okay for Shumpert to say he's not coming back until he's 100%?

OK let me ask you honestly and without bias -- you don't think it's wrong for Melo to call a player who may still be on his team (we hope) a "ridiculous contract"? That's not being selfish and/or a bad teammate?
Calling a 3yr/25M contract ridiculous for a fan favorite is pretty dumb when you are making 64.5M over the same period of time.
Yep, sure is. Melo showing his true colors .... in other words, he's the a** h*** a lot of people already thought he was.

Just two more days. I never thought I'd be a neutral NBA fan. Should be kind of boring.

But put together with the fact that he apparently isn't making any effort to change Dolan's mind, suggests to me that Melo doesn't give a ****. Ultimately, we'll know a lot more in a few weeks. But don't be surprised if this is the first of many Melo quotes that arguably show his indifference to Lin.
The only thing I can think of is that Melo has some kind of assurances from CP3 that he will be coming to NY. Otherwise, it's unacceptable. We need Lin to have a chance.
We really don't though.

Good back up ? Lol. I am starting to think it's in Lin's best interest to actually go away from New York so he can just concentrate on his basketball and not deal with media trolls.

Berman (on ESPN radio a few hours ago) was asked if it were possibe they changed their minds within 3 days and said (para-phrasing) " I mean if there was a huge backlash it's possible, anything is possible. But as of right now they are not matching"

Totally different injuries. And Lin was coming back during the playoffs while Shumpert is coming back during the regular season

Jonathan Feigen @Jonathan_Feigen
Wondering if the Knicks might now match the Lin offer sheet so he can mentor Jason Kidd.

It's the same chit... No player should be reamed if they're not healthy enough to contribute... we weren't beating miami anyway.
