dont like the contract overpaid?...

you were dumping half your contracts this year looking to go lottery anyways

if NY dosent match... Lin is going to be the face of the Rox for years to come...

in a perfect world you base a players performance on pure meritocracy

but being a Rox fan... I dont have to tell you what Yao Ming brought to the organization

This has to do with skills not ethnicity. Glitz and glamour comes after you win a championship

to basketball purest might not like it... but in the end its what fills the stands...

Morey's pursuit of Lin has only to do with marketing dollars from China. He's a troll who has lost his direction and reputation. Knicks fans want nothing to do with him. Laker fans want nothing to do with him. I don't blame them.

Morey is def trolling the Knicks. Big time.

Dear god, this comment is getting annoying.

Morey went after a restricted free agent he wanted. Just because something was reported as a deal does not mean it was official. It was utterly idiotic and borderline offensive for the Knicks to immediately declare that they would match; for the coach to proclaim him the starter...before the contract was officially offered.

If the Knicks were serious about Lin they had ample opportunity to lock him up but chose not to.

This sense of total entitlement and acting as if the world revolves around them is very annoying about the Knicks. You may feel "wronged," but nothing the Rockets did was against any rules. Our GM has to try to do what is his team's best interest, not try to do favors for others.

"Trolling" is going to a board of a team on RealGM of whom you are not a fan and whine, bitch & moan about them because of your misplaced anger.

and seriously come on... you were dumping contracts left right and center.... either looking to go lottery or the off chance land Dwight...

but then ask yourself if you really think he would have come here..what pieces would you have had here before you topped up the offer to Lin...

that Dwight would have thought he would win a Championship here..

im not saying if Lin were here that would bring Dwight and they would win a Championship...

but Lin's International marketability sure would factor into it...

Even as a Knick fan and a guy that liked Lin (although I never bought into the all-star hype etc.) I wonder why the Rockets would trade Lowry (signed at 6mill.) and let Dragic (at 8 mill.) go, just to sign Lin at 8mill. Both those guys are clearly better than Lin so I'm honestly astonished. Our teams could have even made some sort of sign and trade or something where we'd get Lowry or Dragic. Anyways good luck to you guys, the Rockets and Jeremy Lin.

I still like him and have no hard feelings toward him. I hope he succeeds.

Melo on Lin saga: "It's not up to me. It's up to the organization to say that they want to match that ridiculous contract."

^ another reason why Lin should hope Knicks dont match...

people will bag on Lin for not playing for the Knicks in the playoffs or bagging it on the select team...

but Melo has admitted he did not play 100% for D'Antoni when he came back and played with Lin...

yet no one seems to care about that...

there will be way too much drama with the Lin vs Melo crowd

In the real world it's best to not assume everyone is like minded... Not every owner is in it for the money... Not exactly the "best" investment bro.

Les Is one of the owners who is acuttally a fan of the game.

Secondly this is a Rockets board not a Lin board, we don't care bout his marketability I mean wtf does that have to do with us? Why do you keep talking about that... All that means is we have to spend more money on tickets for a non championship team...
Who the hell wants that!?!

If we cared about market value we would all be idk Laker fans.

It's cool and all if Lin brings more fans, but IMO its kinda disgusting to be a fan of someone solely based on the color of ones skin...

Yes most of us here are old Rocket fans from Houston, many brought in from all over from Olajuwon... But not because he was Nigerian, or from Uni of Houston cause he was amazing and he won!
Some are leftover from McGrady/Yao which barring the injuries had great potential.

But plz, dear god don't blab on about Lin and his marketability... I speak for the board... DO NOT care...

If Lin comes which I doubt by all means contemplate with all the other fanboys bout how much Lin is bring in...

Sidenote... Isn't Lin twainese? Max if u get a chance could you explain why people in china drool over him?

Lin is American, born & bred.

I think that one or maybe both of his parents were from Taiwan. US citizens and have been for some time.

If you go to the Knicks board, most fans believe Lin didn't appreciate the Knicks organization. It's not so much the size of the contract, but the fact that he went back, after the Knicks publicly said they would match the first offer, and signed a new contract with Houston. He clearly wants out of NYC

He will probably do business with Yao Ming and make a ton of money for the Houston Rockets. I can't blame Knicks fans for turning sour on him. He deserves it.

Knicks are 100% in the drivers seat here. They can end this with a stroke of a pen on paper.

If you want him, match him. If you don't, move on. Either way please stop this crybaby BS.

Wondering if the Knicks might now match the Lin offer sheet so he can mentor Jason Kidd.

wow, a player taking more money... that's new. You don't have to be a harvard grad to know business is business. He is a restricted free agent and took the best offer available. Restricted means, its up to new york to match or not.

As opposed to a Dragic situation here in houston. We gave him the opportunity to start here in houston and show what he can do. I don't know the real or exact numbers but basically from the report we offered him about $8 mil per year. The report showed both sides were off in negotiations. He goes on to sign with PHX the team that traded him, for, if im not mistaken, basically $8 mil per year. Hows that for not wanting to be here.

Well Dragic wanted three years and a player option but the Houston wanted the 4th year a team option. Maybe I am kidding myself and he did want out.

btw lets get serious... there is not way your going to be able to compete with teams like Miami... and NY or LA.... when they pay the "money" to get the big name players onto their team...

as for color... im willing to bet many of the Lin haters have a issue with him because of his color...

and probably overlooked because of his color...

here is a funny parody
