LOL @ pointing out Melo when it could've been Stat or Tyson or Baron Davis. Holy cow this board is hilarious

But Melo is the one who opened his mouth.

He's a 22-year old kid. His teammates (i.e. MELO) need to be the bigger man. But let's be honest there is more than enough evidence at this point that Melo is not a model of maturity.

Hey...every championship team has experience and wise, old veterans. It's almost a necessity. Even some of the young teams that have made the finals recently- OKC, Orlando, LeBron's Cavs - they just couldn't get it done against the more experienced teams. I love our veteran guys, especially in the back up roles they'll be in all year. Not mad about that at all.

I agree I ve stuck with the knicks through a lot worse then this. I m a KNICKS FAN...so with or without Jeremy ..lets go to war next season.

I m starting to think that Jeremy knew what he was doing when he signed that contract. I think Jeremy wants to play in an offense that is more like Antoni. He wants to be able to put up numbers and in Woodson's system. He doesnt think he will be able to play his style of B Ball

The point is that it was not just one player. It had to be multiple players. There is none more influential on the team than Melo. Tyson Chandler did not go to management complaining about Lin's lack of humility. Chandler actually seemed to be a big Lin supported. I'm not blaming Melo for any of this. I'm just laughing at the concept of him looking at anyone and thinking they lacked humility.

Guess who else performed well under D'Antoni:

Think about some of the names on that list for a mininute.
-Chris Duhon was an All-Star caliber PG the first half of his first season with New York
-Do you remember Landry rookie year under Mike?
-How about how Felton played under him?
-Remember two years ago when Tony Douglas had to start for Billups and played really well?
-David Lee was an All-Star under Mike.

Felton and Duhon played well because their shots were falling. None of those guys was able to get into the paint like Lin.

You seriously aren't worried about injuries with 3, possibly 4 of the oldest active players in the league?

Savvy vets are fine, but not when they constitute your ENTIRE bench.

Thanks! RT @rodboone: Melo on Lin: "It's not up to me. It's up to the organization to say that they want to match that ridiculous contract."

Maybe cooler heads will prevail.

Melo called it a ridiculous contract? No more ridiculous than Melo's.

Oh really? 25 PPG career player who makes 18M is ridiculous while a rookie who wants 15M after he was a constant waiver?! Melo showed his loyalty and I pray to God that he'll bring his best friend CP3 here, in the heart of the City to make us the worlds best!!

I'm too disappointed with Lin... He did the worst thing he could have done... :(

As far as Melo, it's pretty shocking. He thinks he's good enough to win without a special PG? He's not. I think he's worth his contract if he defers and understands his role. This shows that he doesn't even think that's required.

Quote?? Link?? Or are you now making stuff up to fit your agenda? Didn't you fight TKF for the last 4 months for doing this?

Funny how he doesn't want or thinks he needs a special PG but he is always dropping hints how he wants CP3 here? Seems the opposite of what you are stating above. But like you told TKF for months I guess that is OK because it doesn't fit your agenda?

No but I think theres something definitely shady with that mustache of his. Even if you go back to the video of the reporters kidding with Anthony that he had been traded to the Nets, the mustache reacted first. I know it did. Go back and check. My guess is,that the mustache is at the root of all this. Sentient mustaches from outerspace bent on destruction an insane thought? I think not...I think not.
