there is too much at stake non basketball to let him go, revenue, competition for audience from brooklyn, etc

I think cooler heads need to prevail, match the deal, and reasses the situation

lin has trade value despite the 15 M at the end

CJ had a bad playoffs and is a backup but he had a much better year than Felton and is steadier, smarter, better shot. No comparison really.

i don't think felton is that good, dont get me wrong.

but CJ Watson shot a whopping 36% from the field last year and 24% from the field in the playoffs...lets not make CJ Watson into this good player.

No but I think theres something definitely shady with that mustache of his. Even if you go back to the video of the reporters kidding with Anthony that he had been traded to the Nets, the mustache reacted first. I know it did. Go back and check. My guess is,that the mustache is at the root of all this. Sentient mustaches from outerspace bent on destruction an insane thought? I think not...I think not.[quote][quote]
How often does a coach push to trade his best player mid-season? I gave Melo the benefit of the doubt about that but you can't tell me it's not the least bit concerning.[quote]

Melo is a certified coach killer

Now, he is in the business of killing franchises[quote]

When did Melo start writing checks?

I hope to god you are right but the writing is on the wall, unless this is all a ploy by Dolan to utterly destroy Morey

I cant believe some of the posters on here saying they will leave being a NYK fan because we lost Lin. In my opinion we still have the best young talent on last year's team still on the roster. Shump>>>Lin. Be happy we still have him and he isnt going anywhere. Shump upside in my opinion is light years ahead of Lin. From a defensive mindset way ahead and his offense is something he can definitely improve.

The Knicks should match Lin's contract just to set precedence.

If they fail to match, it basically tells every team to offer "poison pill" contracts to the Knicks' RFA and they'll buckle like chair made of playing cards.

Getting Lin was like lucking into a top 5 draft pick when you had no picks in the entire draft, it would be so SO dumb to let him go without getting any value in return for him. It would be "Dolan Dumb."

If I stop watching the Knicks this season it wouldn't be because of no Lin, it would be because I know for a fact that the Knicks are doomed as long as Dolan is the guy who has the final say on NY Knicks transactions. I have NO confidence in him to make the right decision for any basketball-relation issue. I just hope he keeps Lin because he feels like it make business sense. Although, I doubt his business sense too. His current fortune is his father's fortune, not his.

He should also have some Billionaire pride and not let Mikhail Prokhorov come to New York outspend him.
It's hard being a Knicks fan...

I agree. Shump is my favorite player but this is about a championship. Lin gave us the best shot at one if he fulfills 75% his potential next year.

u serious...

maybe I have to yell...Lin is the reason that he is not coming back...he made the choice to get his money after 20 games and go back to a team that already cut him.

Nothing wrong with that, he cashed in.

You guys are mad at the wrong people....this is on Lin
