Just yesterday Satoransky couldn't score in a whore house with a million in gold bullion, and had the athletics God gave a tortoise. He wasn't even capable of selling hotdogs at an NBA game, let alone selling himself as a player. Now he's "Bonafide" with NBA athletics and a shot sent from heaven.
Perhaps its because I'm not one to over react, but making final pronouncements never seemed like a great idea.
The question about Satoransky has not been "can he play" or even "is he any good"? The question has been "was he a good pick, a value pick, at #32 in a draft full of guys at that pick who would unquestionably have been round 1 picks most years?" (i.e. were available in rd2/2012 because so many guys stayed out of the 2011 draft)
If you believe he would have been available at our thrown-away #46 pick, as I do, then what he did yesterday isn't an answer to the question. The answer lies in what the guy you think we should have picked does -- what Crowder or Barton or whoever does.
Then you can compare Satoransky, over time, to other guys who might have been chosen in his place -- e.g. O'Quinn or Denmon.
I totally get and agree with that position. But reading the last game thread, this is not the vibe you pick up. Apparently Satoransky didn't have the best game. The complaints weren't about him not being good value, they were questioning whether the dude could walk and chew gum at the same time.
