No. Houston screwed this one up. It's not Lin paying the Houston. Kid is getting paid crazy. Would you turn down a job that pays you 10 times as much when your current company didn't even give you an offer yet?
I think the only thing that everyone can agree on is that Houston ridiculously overpaid the kid but it's not Lin's fault to sign the offer sheet.

Nah, nothing is bigger than Dolan's ego.

I'm getting more of a kick out of the Chicken Littles panicking and getting all keyboard-angry-emo at the Knicks than I am upset about losing Lin.

I'll take the guy that isn't some chucking loser that fails to get past the 1st round year after year and isn't some massive underachiever.
Like I said, if this organization is too dumb to not match Lin's contract then I wish this organization nothing but the worst.
Post invalid after I read your location (Linsanity bandwagon)

Did we forget that Stat played his best ball w/ felton??
That's right. Stat played his best ball with Feton!

Really he's being killed more now than when it happen... because of the way this whole contract negotiation has gone down in the last 24 hours. I understand he deserves a pay day, but to go along with this grand scheme Morey has concocted doesn't sit well with me, on top of the other stuff he's done like pulling out of the Select team because people were putting twetty birds in his ear

IF Dolan really follows through with this (assuming that's the path we're on, and that's not 100%), well then:
You almost just have to throw up your hands and say that he's just one of these self-destructive and stupid people who will continually gravitate toward doing the wrong thing: repeating unthinkably idiotic mistakes over and over as a result of a character defect or psychological problem.
As much as I think Melo is a quality player who can be part of a great team (with the right deference), handing the keys to him alone is really not that much better than doing the same with Isiah and Marbury.
It's just a pattern of repeated behavior that is personal to that individual and entirely self-defeating.
There's no fan that should allow their emotions to be tied up in such a hopeless case.

too much soime of people need to take a time out go sit in a corner and think before you post....Felton will be fine, Lin is not worth 14 million a yr never mind 30 with the tax.....
Melo is right the contract is nuts, and this is not his fault. This the NBA at its finest Stern wanted this and he has it.
The Knicks can still macth a personally I would just to f with Houston, but then in the thd yr when is a little bit above average making an allstar game on Asians votes rather then performance and you can tm ove him for a bag of peanuts the idiots who are threatening to leave will be bashing him. This is the first Smart Basket ball move they have made since before ZEKE and Layden think about that one

He said he couldn't run, cut, or jump and would not have been able to contribute. People with an agenda are too stuck on the actual number. He didn't use a knee-measuring device that pumps out a percentage of how good his knee is.
Oh boy, here this dude goes again about how people have agendas just because they're not a Lin fanboy. With the join date right in the heart of Linsanity. Maybe he's the one with the agenda.

You better send a message to Lin to withdraw the offer sheet!! He made this ****, he has the power to redo all he did... Ask him to give up his 25M (tax included) 3rd year!!
Jeremy Lin doesn't get paid the luxury tax. He is getting paid 25 million over three years. Thats a fair deal.
Why don't you ask Melo to opt out and re-sign for less money.

Right.. the Stat that had to take matter into his own hands and resort to barreling into the lane 1 on 5 just to get a bucket. Ok.

So, basically Houston will either have Lin/Dwight or Lin+3 young first rounders. They seem to be set either way, either becoming a playoff team immediately, or in rebuild mode.
