No but I think theres something definitely shady with that mustache of his. Even if you go back to the video of the reporters kidding with Anthony that he had been traded to the Nets, the mustache reacted first. I know it did. Go back and check. My guess is,that the mustache is at the root of all this. Sentient mustaches from outerspace bent on destruction an insane thought? I think not...I think not.

How often does a coach push to trade his best player mid-season? I gave Melo the benefit of the doubt about that but you can't tell me it's not the least bit concerning.

What is a bit disconcerting? If we are going to go off and crazy conspiracy silliness...then it would make more sense for Stoudemire towant Lin out cause NO ONE id going to make Anthony a 2nd wheel or 2nd option. Stoudemire OTOH would risk being even Robin now. Melo soundbite on the radio talking about when he and Chandler had dinner with Lin a few weeks ago, Lin talked about finding the best situation then Melo said "a lot has changed" since then due to Lin's visits with other teams.

I interpret this as Lin telling Melo and Chandler that he definitely wants to be back but after meeting with Houston he's definitely not set on NY.

I don't think Melo is really jealous of Lin but he obviously doesn't get how good Lin could be. I actually think he could well be a bargain at $8M per year.

Lin has some of the best upside at PG in the league for a young player. People are missing that. You are going to be sad when you see what he reaches -- he's going to be extremely good and maybe semi-great.

Melo is an idiot to say what he said -- there's no excusing it. Period. Dolan would be an idiot to give up Lin -- there would be no excusing that.

I have stood up for both of them in the past so I have credibility here -- I think they both have gotten some unfair criticism. But this would clearly be a sea change -- it would show just how toxic both of them are. Melo included because he apparently doesn't understand how badly he needs a PG or how talented Lin is in all the ways we badly need a floor general.

lin played 25 games to get this ridiculous contract. Everybody will be wishing they thanked melo for speaking the truth if lin becomes a scrub.

Speculating obviously but it's probably some kind of jealousy. Lin came out of nowhere, undrafted (not a top 5 pick like Melo or Chandler) and he still turned around the team in february and almost saved D'Antoni's job. Then MDA was replaced, Lin injured and Knicks finished the season over 0.500 with Melo playing like an MVP candidate. These guys are probably upset Lin got so much media coverage. Lin is also a different player because he graduated from Harvard with a degree in economics. It's like Carlton Banks and Will Smith meeting in Bel-Air ! LOL

Anyway calling Lin's contract ridiculous is disrespectful for Lin and the Houston Rockets. Lin could strike back saying it's ridiculous Melo is paid more than Lebron. I don't think they meant harm but they were stupid. George Karl says hello...

Yeah... this is why this goes beyond how good of a player Lin is. If Melo and Chandler are willing to see the team get worst, just cause their jealous of the attention Lin gets, it shows they are not fully committed to winning a championship.

So what happens if Shumpert comes back and starts getting votes for DPOY? Is Chandler going to sulk and ask for him to be be traded?

IF Dolan really follows through with this (assuming that's the path we're on, and that's not 100%), well then:

You almost just have to throw up your hands and say that he's just one of these self-destructive and stupid people who will continually gravitate toward doing the wrong thing: repeating unthinkably idiotic mistakes over and over as a result of a character defect or psychological problem.

As much as I think Melo is a quality player who can be part of a great team (with the right deference), handing the keys to him alone is really not that much better than doing the same with Isiah and Marbury.

It's just a pattern of repeated behavior that is personal to that individual and entirely self-defeating.

There's no fan that should allow their emotions to be tied up in such a hopeless case.
