There is no info out there to give us even hope Lin will be matched. Its a done deal, he is gone!

Thinking logically about all this, there is no way Dolan doesn't bring Lin back

The ramifications are just too much to deal with

you think heat fans would be crying if they lost james jones juwan howard and joel anthony if they got allen lewis and camby?

Nope. This is only a problem now because of Lin (and we still might match).

Kidd, Felton > Bibby, Baron, Douglas, Lin

The only part of the season that matters to me, were Woodson and the playoffs, and Lin only played 7 games. So for the majority, we were left with those 3. That's why I didn't include Lin.

I see your pov, but think it's incomplete. Do you think lin didn't play as hard under dantoni as he did under woodson? those other 18 games count as well. we cant just take a sample size of a season, and base comparisons just on that. At least not if we are looking at the big picture. I mean if you do, so be it, but I still dont agree with you. I think if the knicks match, we would have improved from last season. if the knicks dont match, we will be at best the same team as last season, albeit older. much older.

The way the team is composed... we need veterans. But not to the extent of losing all our youth.

Lin should make up his mistake and withdraw that offer; if not i wont be mad at Dolan; its not just about the lux tax, which would be up to 115M in `15; but also for emotional and personal reasons. He wont accept to be fooled by anyone; not at this way!!

Sorry Lin; you prefered Yao over Chandler!!

Lin does not make or break this team. STAT and Melo does.

 The two guys that had us 7 games under .500 and cruising for a lottery pick? If that's the case we're going to be broken for a few years.

That's not my point.

The point of my last few posts is that when I and Others said basically what you just said. "STAT & Melo can not play together" & "Adding Kidd and Camby does not make this team a tittle contender". Do you know what was said back to us? "We are in win now mode" & "It's OK to let go of assets because we don't have time to develop them".

Jeremy Lin is a young player that has to be developed. That's falls in line with "It's OK to let go of assets because we don't have time to develop them". Why Is this not the same as before? That's what so mind boggling about this board. We chucked deuces to Landry for his contract, but Lin deserves his contract for playing 26 games, and before that was being cut from teams rosters?

Lin is a player that has to be developed? No s***. But you acting like a 23 year old PG putting up 15/7 under Woodson last season is going to handicap us because he needs to "develop" is beyond ridiculous.

I like Lin..but come on guys ..Is Lin really that much in the 3rd year..over 30 mil ..that's to risque .. Lin might be a diamond in rough but players make that kind of money in the 3rd year u know for sure their gonna be a star... Keeping Lin would be nice that was my first option ..but c'mon him & fields are replaceable at a cheaper price..he had a great 25 -26 games but the knicks were did damn good without him the last month of the season, so lets not act like we're gonna loose chris paul or deron williams..i'm not a fan of felton but he'll give you similar play to Lin especially in splitting min with Kidd & the Argentinian.. We still need a shooting guards.....

Thomas=Harrellson

Kidd did not put up better numbers than Fields. Not even close. Unless you think Kidd is drastically improving his numbers at the age of 40, we're not getting anything significant out of him next season.

I you're denying the overall impact Kidd has on a game is less then fields then idk what to say to you.Who cares about stats. Kidd can run a team, fields is pretty useles

2 less points, same rebounds, 3 more assists, while being a much better defender.

In terms of his FG%: Kidd shot 273 FGAs. Of that, 223 were from 3, which he shot 35%. (For comparison, Landry shot 25%.)

I'd say Kidd is an upgrade.

Thank you. This is insane. Lin had 20 games of very good play for sure...but let's not pretend that he was perfect. In terms of losing several players who would have contributed, that is worthless when we replaced them with upgrades. It serves no purpose.

Agreed. Especially because the negative consequences of this deal don't take place for another 2 years. There is time to make moves with Lin or other players if Dolan really doesn't want to pay the high tax.

Nothing concrete, other than the slabs of it posters have been using to bash each other in the head with.
