Say we don't sign Lin because of lux. tax implications. What do we do with JR next year (if he doesn't suck, again)? Do we not use of MLE or MMLE at all? Are we going to just recycle vet. min players? Or is management choosing JR, Felton, MMLE (for two years) over Lin?
I think it's rather simple: our FO doesn't rate Jeremy Lin that highly.

I can't believe anybody was surprised by Houston's offer. They are paying Lin $8m a year... that might be a bit much but it was totally foreseeable that they'd offer him that.

So you're saying Raymond Felton will come into camp in shape, make our stars work flawlessly together, and be efficient with the ball?
He played a whole lot better with Amare when he was here. At least he can run a pick and roll unlike that traitor Lin.
And let me remind you how competitive Felton is, he would've played at 85% against Miami instead of leaving his team hanging.

To me Lin is the perfect backup/game changer on a good team. Going to Houston is going to break him and expose him but he they don't have anyone that can take over a game on any given night.
So Lin starting along side Landry Fields, Bill Walker, Jared Jeffries, and Tyson Chandler for all those games counts as playing with a loaded roster?

Linsanity wasn't just a fad that swooped quickly across the nation, everybody is still intriqued by this story. NY Knicks will look really really bad if this happens if you thought they are hated now just wait and see..........
Nobody is going to pay attention to LIN in houston. Mark my words.
Lin will always have a following within the Asian American community.
The difference now is that Lin has reached out to so many people outside of the Asian community. His story is well known internationally, some of you guys act is if all will be forgotten after a couple of months, lol no it wont. There will be heavy backlash that will go on for the entire season, mark my words.

If NYK end up not signing him, you are correct. FO didn't make a peep during Landry's 3 day window, why would they now? I think most of this is media BS. I say wait until the deadline.

Watch us give JR max next year with early bird and our lux tax will be just as high if not higher.

Now dont get me wrong I like Lin and I would like him back, but not at that price. He avg. 14.6 ppg, 6.2 apg, 3.2 TO, and 1.6 St. Raymond Felton avgs: 13.4 ppg, 6.7 Apg, 2.6 TO, and 1.4 St. I'll Take Felton any day at the price we're getting him and I;m sorry niether of these are Allstar numbers! Felton found ways to make Stat play to the best of his ability and made both Galo and W. Chandler look good. Lin only made Chandler and Novac look good.
Thank you for bring in stats to prove your statement, first post i can read in a while that has a meaning to it

We aren't going to be doing a lot of PNR with Woodson as our coach. You will see a lot of ISO sets featuring Melo as our first option.

So...
didn't even talk to PJax.
failed to sign Nash
if we fail to bring back Lin
Anybody still think Grunfield is GM of the year?

ok lets clear this up right now...the money is not the issue if the knicks dont match.
the clearly feel d*ck over by morey and lin that they changed the deal to make it worse for the knicks to match. Dolan and Knicks FO feels slighted like they were dooped.
That's not a valid reason to not match. That's throwing a tantrum cause somebody outsmarted you.
i didn't say it was smart...and hopefully color heads prevail over the 2 day period....but emotions are a part of life. The knicks feel like they got f*cked over.

Re: Felton traded to Knicks; Not matching Lin? (part 3)
we gotta re-sign him. the depth would be INSANE.
if we let him walk, its stupid.
even if we're not "high" on him, and we don't want that 15 mil deal in the 3rd year, then we could just trade his expiring

Re: Felton traded to Knicks; Not matching Lin? (part 3)
if we bring Lin back he would be the worst PG on our roster (i really like that Pablo signing). It would become a constant distraction when Lin is benched with that big contract so letting him go will help the team perform better next season. No need to pay all that money AND hurt the team at the same time.
