If Miami Heat get Darko.

Post#1 » by taii1234 » Sun Jul 15, 2012 10:50 pm

That would be an insaley good pickup for them. They are indeed for some more interior defense down low and darko fits the bill. He does not have to an offensive machine, only thing he needs to do is rebound and clog the paint, ala Tyson Chandler.

With a veteran minimum, this would be zero risk transaction for the Heat. Additionally, Roney Turiaf is leaving and Eddy Curry didn't pan out well. This would be a great pickup for the Heat. And we all know how Riley loves his big men.

What are your thoughts?

PG: Chalmers/Cole
SG: Wade/Allen/Jones
SF: Lebron/Battier/Miller
PF: Bosh/Haslem
C: Milic/Anthony

Crunch time lineup would be:

Chalmers
Wade
Allen (switch with Battier during times and breaks in the game for defense)
LeBron
Bosh (switch with Darko during timesouts and breaks in the game for defense)

If the Heat get Darko, they will more importantly have 4 of the top 5 picks in the famed 2003 draft. They should trade for Joel Anthony for Melo, and they'll have all five. I'm sure the Knicks will understand.

Anyone who thinks "Oh, Darko will be fine as a rebounding/defense" machine has never actually watched Darko. Because Darko doesn't want to be that kind of guy at all, and his whiny temperament means that he will start pouting if you try to make him one.
But do you know what they call a fool, who's full of himself and jumps into the path of death because it's cool?

It would leave us with Lebron, Darko, Bosh, Wade and James Jones from the same draft too

Darko's defense is extremely overrated. Also, he can't rebound. I mean, 7.5 rebounds per 36 minutes the last 2 years?

Bosh is a better defender, actually.

Heaven yes. Riley will convince him with his level 100 bargaining stat . The Knicks will tremble and wont resist the deal.

Darko is a average Bosh so Heat pick him up for multiple championships?

The Heat are not the Dolphins or the Marlins; we don't sign other team's trash.

As the old saying goes, one man's trash is another man's treasure  But yeah, I'm not so sure Darko's mentality fits with this team.

Or any winning team for that matter.

Lots of anal sore posters from other forums on the first page.

Darko would be an upgrade for us.

We have Pittman as our only big center.
I remember when the Dolphins were perennial contenders
