Anyway, I'm not trying to be divisive. But you guys don't really get how close to abysmal failure we are.

Because of losing Jeremy Lin?

This team has improved its depth at just about every position this off-season. Until Morey tossed the wrench, everyone - including you - were talking about what a great off-season it was.

The moves Grunwald made are still improvements, whether or not Lin is here.

You know I respect you, KG. But I reuse to believe that the sole difference between the Knicks' success and failure this year boils down to whether Lin is here or not.

Is Felton the ideal PG? No, he's not. But if you look at it objectively, neither is Lin. Both have holes in their game.

Difference being Felton has shown he can work well with Amare.

I ride or die with this team. Lin ain't making or breaking that deal, no matter where he lands. And I refuse to think that all those moves the FO made are automatically negated because Jeremy Lin's agent got greedy and he lands in Houston.

But again, probably just me. A lot of people here have already decided that the Knicks will be on a par with Marbs' 23-win team if Lin goes. I'd rather watch them play the games and find out for myself.

In my opinion Dolan over paid for Amare, Melo, Chandler, Novak, Camby, Kidd, Felton basically everyone on the team with exception of Shump so why not just go all in and over pay for Lin, in year 3 everyone except for Novak is an expiring im sure if the team isnt doing well and Lin turns out to be a bust the Knicks could find a team willing to take Amare, Melo, or Chandler off the books. If someone took Big Mac Curry off their hands then anything is possible.

JR's underlying point is wrong and he's even stupider for saying it to the press.

Using those examples actually support what JR is talking about.

exactly, basketball players aren't the most astute people in the world. Im pretty sure what JR said and what he meant to say are two different things.

Guys come from college, spend 4 years getting paid on a rookie deal, they paid the dues to get paid. Lin is going to get a 25 million dollar deal based off of a 30 game sample. What JR said isnt wrong, misguided yes, but def not wrong.

You do know that Eric Gordon has only played 205 games in his 4 years, so essentially he is only a 2.5 year player going by your logic.

At least Melo wanted to be a Knick. The Knicks was the only place he wanted to be. Unlike Lin who is in Houston.

Melo is looking out for the Knicks.

Melo used the Nets into forcing the Knicks into giving up every possible asset to get him, then he met with Dolan personally in the middle of the season when both teams were in a playoff race just to personally confirm that his coffers were empty.....then he signed for the maximum allowable contract..... and even now to this day he is giving his input on personnel decisions that would give himself the most glory and the easiest path to achieve his selfish goals

Coming from a guy that took 2.8 when he could get a lot more.. I don't think it'd be much different than any other player getting overpaid, like Fields... Although few have made such bank off so few games.

If you're making Tyson Chandler money a lot is expected of you... And to me, it sounds like a lot of players aren't sold on Lin... It's always "he's a good player" or as Kidd said "has the chance to be consistent" etc etc.. You don't often hear "he's going to be a great" "all star" etc etc.. Then again no one expected him to do what he did...
